The Sandbag House Reno Record - on the ground II

The Corner's garden got more serious attention on Thursday. It had not been in the original schedule, but courtesy of a blockage in the leiwater (irrigation) channel somewhere up the road to nowhere, a river ran through, flooding that part of the garden for about 3 hours.

No, I wasn't thrilled because it took that long for the municipality (after 2 calls) to sort the problem and the few apricot pips left, were washed away, leaving bare ground where nothing grows. Other than weeds. And dust.

However, it did mean that the ground was damp and soft making it easier - and sensible - to attack and split the agapanthus.

As an aside, this job was long overdue and had been on the winter list. After a long spell of rain. That never happened. The rain, that is.

Anyhow, Gardener, J, did a great job and the "discarded" plants all have homes and won't end up on the dump.

Yesterday, the bed along the fence also got attention: with the flowers on the indigenous, self-sown shrubs gone, it was time to cut them down to size so that the sun can feed the smaller shrubs (Cape honeysuckle, rose geranium, wilde als), still small but now well established and which will eventually form a green wall (hedge!) along one side.

This photo again confirms why I am calling the emerging space, The Corner.

Finally: MM's fabulous logo. A gift to me. I love it. Thank you!

No internal work this week...another mixed blessing.

Until next time

The “Corner” is really starting to feel like its own little character in your updates, especially with the green wall idea taking shape. @fionasfavourites I’ve been trying to contact you on discord. If it’s possible, can we talk? I really needed some help which seems quite urgent. Please 🙏

Alright fiona... Very well. Though I'm at the edge of the bridge already but your advice will definitely be appreciated if you can't help. I replied your message on discord already

It is always appropriate to renew the garden, plants acquire strength and grow more beautiful.
I take advantage of you to greet you and wish you a nice weekend.
