The Sandbag House Reno Record - A New Window on to my World - from the Void

It's been a week, but better than the last two: two days' breather and then full steam ahead. The new window's in. With this step, the worst of the cutting and and hole-hacking is done. The only other "hole" is the bathroom door which is a (not entirely simple) swap of the door with one dry wall and a hand basin - from one side of the existing room to other.

This batch of photos begins with the prep, move through the progress and ends with the view from the new window.

When I'm in, and the void totally transformed into a bedroom, I shall see tree tops from my bed.

Now, it's the interior cladding, stair bannisters and painting. Oh, and the bathroom, of course.
As B the Builder said, yesterday, it's getting there and "die ergste is amper verby" - the worst is almost over! For phase 1...
Until next time

I love your little window Fiona. How lovely that you'll have a view of the trees and the sky! So nice to see parts of the reno completed!
The new window is like a perfect way to bring the outside in, waking up with a view of treetops such a peaceful image.

Elevated room really taking shape now, this should be wonderful to star gaze or watch tree tops with birds going to and fro.
Renovation has given this little house a very elegant upgrade, looks great Fiona, well done!
Thank you, Joan
