Ruminations on Hive Power Up Day

_PUD Mar 2025.jpg

It's been a while since I've powered up. Let alone on Power Up Day (PUD). Because of my pre-occupation with RL events over the last few months, I've lost touch with what's happening in the Hive. I keep on saying I'm coming back. I think I am. Slowly.

Back in the day

PUD began on the original iteration of this blockchain and so much has changed - here - and in RL since then. This week, a noob commented on my most recent post, and it occurred to me that while change has been profound, but not for redfish. It sent me back to this 2020 post which links to some of my early experiences navigating crypto social life, and from which they - and other - redfish could benefit.

Also back in the day, and as my "presence" strengthened, I used to delegate to noobs. This as interest in crypto social waned with the depreciation of crypto, generally, not just Hive, so did interest in PUD and our initiative.

Anyhow, back to this week, and reading said noob's introductory post, I was again reminded about how difficult it is to get going here, and how scary it can be. And. Like in RL, there is peer pressure which, if we don't "submit", can make life difficult. I know. I'm a salmon.

So.

Respecting the resistance to peer pressure and wish for privacy, I will, in my own way, extend a helping hand, as I used to, back in the day, with a delegation.

But first

Because I am trying to pay attention agan, I am at least powering up today, having swapped most of my my HBD for Hive. I have kept some because I want to try to resume my regular weekly donation to @combination

Then powering up:

Delegation

As I would still like to support noobs, especially Silver Bloggers, I have delegated to @quark.top. Pop over and say "Hi!"

This delegation is, as in the past, for 21 days, for them to use as they please, and to be able to do a little more in the blockchain and maximise their return.

My resolve to get back "ïnto" regular writing remains. I have done better, of late. Let's see how things March on...

Until next time

Wow! I have just completed my own HPUD post and now following up on a new notification finding this!!

As a new Silver Blogger, I am still thinking about what it means to be in communication with others in different parts of the world. Especially with the accompanying thought, as in your case, that I do not know that I would ever experience visiting South Africa.

It is very nice to read you are working towards getting more active again. I hope you are safe and doing well there.

Thank you for your encouragement, @fionasfavourites! 🤝

In a separate comment, related more generally to your post, @fionasfavourites, I noticed the community into which you posted your own HPUD post. I just posted mine into the community linked by the notice from HiveBuzz.

Given the seeming importance of where we choose to post anything we write, I would welcome input from you and others on where you have settled on posting anything written about the monthly HPUD initiative.
