Fiery plays Disco Elysium part 3: So we are not a super cop?

Last time we met with another police officer, Kim. After that, we spoke with asshole Garte the manager. Then we went outside to investigate a crime scene and a dead body. There we met with two annoying and ugly kids. One of them was throwing stones at a dead body. Both kids answered all our questions with a bunch of slurs and insults. Also, we were not able to take the body from the tree. It was in such a bad state that we were throwing up just by coming close.

This time we saw a smoker who is a potential witness to the murder. The problem was that this young man seemed not willing to talk to us. Finally, we convinced him to see us again. He showed us a key under a rock. We went inside and saw a cleaning lady. She told us in which room the smoker lives. The cleaning lady also asked us to investigate another room. We went to that suspicious room, a woman inside did not want to let us in, so we accused her of cooking morphine. Then the woman let us in and said that she is a real estate agent.

After that, we went outside and saw a graffiti artist, Cindy, who was preparing to pollute the wall. We encouraged her to do that, and this made her more hesitant.

Then we spoke with an agent of Wild Pines Group. She offered to help us if we would either find our badge...or investigate a local drug ring. We refused to help her with a drug ring. That means that we will have to go look for our badge. But this agent was nice enough to give us 130 money. So after that, we were able to pay our bill.

After that, we found the room of the smoker witness(?), but he was not home. So we will have to come back later.

Then we spoke with Garte, the manager, again and asked him about a mysterious door leading out of the kitchen. He was not helpful. Apparently, he doesn't know where that door leads.

After that, we went to officer Kim's car and made a few calls. First, we called our police station to inform them that we had lost our badge. Our station was full of idiots who decided to laugh at us for losing our badge. Such good friends, right. They did not even have the basic courtesy to tell us who we are...Anyway, they made us realise that we had serious problems- We lost not only our badge but also our gun... We decided to lie that we still have our gun. Maybe we will find it before it turns into real trouble.

After that, we also called a citizen Sylvie, who used to work in a place we were staying in. She told us that we tried to impress people with our gun and were showing it to their faces. Also, she left a job because of...us? She claimed that we were the worst customer she had. We were aggressive, made dark jokes and trashed our room. This makes me wonder-were we the troublemaker and not the super cop I thought we were?

The loss of the badge and gun hits hard here. It’s fascinating how the game turns failure and doubt into part of the narrative, making the investigation feel just as much about identity as solving the murder.
yes the main character's identity seems like a great mystery.
This part really shows how broken the main character is. Losing both the badge and the gun feels less like bad luck and more like the result of past reckless behavior.
you're absolutely right—the lost badge and gun aren't just plot devices; they're physical manifestations of Harry's self-destruction. It's not an accident; it's a symptom.
