My Language Learning Project: Part 9

I continue my journey using Duolingo. I have reached A2 level competency in German, according to the app, which means I could handle most simple social situations (ordering food, buying a train ticket, chatting about family.) Italian verb forms are annoying me--even though they are simpler than German, they are different, so that is a challenge.

I added Dutch for those times I need some easier points. Dutch is like English and German got together in a blender (at least that is how it seems to a native English speaker.) Keeping spelling straight among German, Dutch, and Norwegian is tough, so I work only one of those languages each day.

I also added Hebrew last night, just to learn some of the most common words. Hebrew adds the challenge of reading right to left. It reminds me of the time I had to teach myself to knit left handed because a third of my students in one class were left handed.
