"Buy LEO Leo Weekly" Update: Week 4 Report

avatar

This is week 4 of my "Buy LEO Leo Weekly" initiative. It's a challenge I set for myself to consistently buy Leo and Powering them up on a quest to reach 15k by the end of the year. One of my resolutions this year is to achieve the Lion status in the Inleo community. I know that relying on curation rewards will not be enough to achieve the goal, hence the initiative to keep buying LEO tokens every weekend in a 52 weeks initiative.

Before I began the initiative, my LP was around 410 Leo tokens, and now I have over 1k LP which is a good progress. Within 4 weeks I was able to increase my LP by over 600 Leo power. It would have been more than that if I have been earning on my long form posts. I know the importance of growing LP in the inleo community, and I believe the only way I can speed up the process is by consistently buying Leo and Powering up as I go.

This is a 52 weeks journey, and staying in the journey for 4 weeks without fail is a no mean feat. Anyone who truly want to build a portfolio in Leo tokens knows that the LEO tokens we earn from engagements and activities in the community are never enough to reach LP goal as quickly as you desire.

The plan for the initiative

My plan is to use 20% of my HBD rewards earned across all my Hive activities for buying LEO tokens every week. However this plan has not worked for me, since I have not been earning any rewards on my long form post since December last year except from Threads. Hence, I am committing 100% HBD rewards to this initiative for now until I start earning from other activities, especially on long form posts.

That has been what I have been doing each weekend, using all the rewards I earned during the week for buying LEO tokens and powering them up. I am keeping to 100% rewards for buying LEO for now until I start getting upvotes on my long form post. The original plan of 20% of my earnings for buying LEO will kicks in when my earnings improved. As it is now, I am using whatever rewards I earned for the week, and some external fundings for the mission.

Review of week 3 LEO purchase

On week 3 weekend, I managed to earn $0.474 HBD rewards from all activities. This was a little lower than week 2 rewards. The rewards were all from Thread since none of my long form posts received curation upvotes in the previous week. The HBD were used to purchase 9.002 LEO, ay added to the 94.377 LEO bought with external fundings of 15 HIVE which takes the total Leo tokens available for powering up for the weekend to 103.379 Leo tokens. The tokens were powered up in addition to what I already have in my wallet. Though it was a small buy, I believe that the week 3's goal was good. The initiative is all about progressive growth and that's what I am experiencing right now.

LEO token purchase for week 4

On week 4 weekend, the total HBD rewards I was able to get amount to $1.385. This was the highest HBD rewards I have earned since I started this initiative. The increase in reward was because one of my long form posts received some good upvotes from some good people who like my post. The HBD were used to buy 26.115 Leo tokens and added to the 60 Leo tokens I already have in my wallet. Moreover, some external funds of 6.4 HIVE was used to buy additional 37.92 LEO, bringing the total Leo tokens for powering up for the weekend to 124.035 LEO tokens. These were all powered up during the weekend.

I am making progress, 4 weeks out of 52 has been completed successfully. I am very satisfied with the progress so far, and I hope to be able to buy more than week 4 purchase next weekend.

Final Thought

I have decided to fly this plane until the end, it is the only thing that matter s to me this year on Hive. Lion status might look like an impossible feat, however, it is achievable in my mind and I am about to give it my spine. One step at a time, 52 weeks underway and 4 weeks down. We could achieve our goal before the year is over if we keep it up. Upvote and reblog this post to support my initiative to become a Lion this year in the Inleo community.

Thanks for reading!
