Walk to Cerro Perõ in Paraguarí, Paraguay
Lately I've just been moving from place to place. My bagpack is at a proper weight as I've learnt to let go of things that weren't as necessary as I thought and this helps me to keep moving without suffering from weariness.
I stayed two days at Piribebuy and then packed my things to go to Paraguari which was a place I had been recommended many times. The town was an interesting place but I was busy exploring and forgot to take pictures. I remembered blogging when I was almost reaching one of the popular places called Cerro Perõ.
Cerro Perõ is one of the tallest in Paraguay which is no big achievement being only 240 meterse tall. Still, there aren't many considerable elevations in the country so it remains attractive for inside turism and there are projects to enhance this with new infrastructure such as a Chicago Wheel, though this has generated controversy within the community.
After some walking uphill I arrived at this rock with a cross which would be the highest point and serves as a watch point. From here you can observe the city and enjoy a cool breeze which is much appreciated in the intense paraguayan heat.
Once at the top I took a minute to cool down and take pictures in different directions. To be honest it wasn't such a great view because I found there was little vegetation but you might like it so I share it with you.
Besides the big rock there's a walking spot which was nice and shaded. There were a few workers there that reminded me of the paraguayan hospitality as they invited me to eat with them.
Hope you've enjoyed this little walk to Cerro Perõ with me. Not the usual wilderness I tend to go to but it was still worth the walk as it was great exercising and a refreshing spot to cool off the heat. Thanks for the time and attention, peace.
