My first time in a shelter for the homeless... and it's great

I wonder if I'm the first hobo here on Hive... Any other homeless dudes out there?

Ok, long story short, I left the farm, slept on the street, ended up at a bus station without even looking for it, took a bus to the nearest city (thinking it wasn't a large one), and ended up in a regional capital called Maringá.

I found an expensive phone, returned it to the owner, got some money for my good deed, was approached by a lady who suggested I go to the shelter and that there I would be set up for success in the city.

Before all this I wasn't sure what to do, but I just love it when life guides me, it's so much more fun and less stressful.

The shelter is nice, you get three meals a day, a warm comfy place to sleep, and clean clothes on the weekend. This is really cool because it gives me freedom to explore the city without worrying about money.

I've been meeting lots of people and practicing music a lot. My singing has ways to go still, but it is improving with all this time available for practice.

The only thing that I don't like about the shelter is that there's scheduled times for everything and that you can't leave your stuff inside so I have to carry my bagpack everywhere. Still, a small price to pay for all the comfort.

There's people of all ages there, a lot of elderly ones as well. There's also two distinct groups: the junkies and the travelers. The junkies behave well enough and everything is peaceful.

I've been rather discrete in my taking of pictures because I don't want to make people uncomfortable so sorry for the unclear shots.

My new clothes, what a blessing, was really feeling the other ones at that point when they don't feel clean even after washed.

Funny how much I've changed environments lately. To be honest, I'm enjoying this city. I think it's the large city I've enjoyed the most ever. Being free of economic worries helps with that a lot.

Also, people are pretty chill here. It's an overall good vibe.

Might give it a try to play the economic ladder for a while here hehe. I'll see though because there's a few volunteering options that I'm approved on Workaway, and I might be missing Nature soon. Either way, I can volunteer and later return or perhaps go to other cities as it seems these shelters are common in Brasil.

Obrigado 🤙🌴🇧🇷

This is such a cool adventure & the homeless shelter looks like a comfortable place to be. By the way, why did you leave the farm? did you have a home before and choose to be homeless?

I had a home, self-built in the forest. Now I guess I'm just looking for a life that doesn't require so much effort (good weather, abundant food, cool people) and I've found all that in Brasil and more :)

I do find that when you surrender, the universe provides. You have to trust though and I know that you understand that. I'm happy to hear that you are in a good place and that you are able to explore, stress free. I look forward to hearing more xxx

Yeah, I think you're words are very true. Also important to free from judgement and the unconscious competition we tend to have in the social status scale
