Al estar entrando en la fase de Luna llena toca dedicarse a los transplantes ya que la energía de las plantas está concentrada en las hojas y no sufren tanto al cambiarlas de lugar. Cuando la Luna es nueva la savia está en las raíces y esto hace que exponerlas al aire les cause mucho estrés.

As we are entering the full moon phase, it is time to dedicate to transplants since the energy of the plants is concentrated in the leaves and they do not suffer so much when they are moved from one place to another. When the Moon is new the sap is in the roots and this makes that exposing them to the air causes them a lot of stress.

Justamente ahora contaba con brotes de repollo, morrón y lechuga que estaban demasiado juntos y necesitaban ser reorganizados.

Además tengo varios esquejes de orégano y albahaca de los cuales varios han enraizado ya.

Creo que por fin voy teniendo resultados más estables con los esquejes, antes los hacía mal ya que no contaba tres nudos antes del corte. Ni siquiera entendía bien a qué se referían con nudo pero ya entendí que es la parte donde brotan dos hojas hacía cada lado. También ayuda que pongo a enraizar en arena humedecida, lo cual evita el riesgo de pudrición.

I think I am finally getting more stable results with the cuttings, before I was doing them wrong because I didn't count three nodes before cutting. I didn't even understand what they meant by a node but now I understand that it is the part where two leaves sprout on each side. It also helps that I root in moistened sand, which avoids the risk of rotting.

Ese orégano planté a partir de un esqueje hace aproximadamente un mes y se ha desarrollado muy bien.

Durante estos procesos de transplante es importante humedecer muy bien la tierra antes de quitar la planta para que salga con soltura. También hay que regar muy bien el nuevo lugar donde se va a plantar para que sea menos estresante el cambio.

During these transplanting processes it is important to moisten the soil very well before removing the plant so that it comes out freely. It is also necessary to water very well the new place where it is going to be planted to make the change less stressful.

También aproveché de plantar estos porotos que fueron cosechados de una planta que dió un par de vainas muy rápido pero pocas. Aún así está genial porque en menos de un año ya estoy sembrando semilla propia y multiplicandola.

Así seguimos por aquí en este interesante proceso de hacer huerta en un clima tropical donde todo avanza muy rápido y eso que aún no llegamos al punto de maximo calor y luminosidad cuando se verá todo explotar.
