Climbing Morro Do Cal, Campo Largo, Brasil

I've been a couple of days already in my new volunteer exchange at a place called "Flor das Águas" (flower of waters) and I've really been enjoying the tranquility of the place. I will share with you pictures of it soon but today I'll show a place that my host took me to visit, which apparently is a bit famous around here: Morro Do Cal (lime hill).

Since the official entrance is private and you have to pay, my host took me to a sneaky entrance the locals know about 🤭

We had a bit of a hard time finding it but finally reached the spot. As you can see it's pretty hidden.

The photos don't do it justice but the path was steep and after a few minutes I was panting and sweating.

There were so many plants I have never seen, every 5 steps I would find a new one and take a picture. Here's just a few, there were many, many, more

At some point I started to emerge from the forest info a clear area.

From there I could see the whole surrounding valley.

I think I might of had COVID recently and that's why I was so sick. My energy wasn't as high as usual as I spent several days fasting to recover. It was very demanding to climb this but felt great to start recovering my strength.

When I reached this place I thought I was near the end but no, there was a lot more to go. I decided to stop for a rest and ate some fruits.

I enjoyed this particular sight from that place.

Those cliffs in between have such a cinematographic feel to them. Would be nice to have a good camera to picture them closer up.

My rest started to extend as I felt incredibly relaxed. The weather was perfect, the breeze ideal, my mind serene. I enjoyed the vegetation some more and had to head down to be on schedule as agreed with my host.

A great walk, very grateful to have visited the place. Recommended for those who like a challenges as it demands of you the whole way.
