I Planted Some of Flowers, and Taro (Elephant Ear) as Planting Is One Of My Hobbies

Hello hivers, it’s my first time to post a blog here and I am delighted to share with some of my flowers that I planted.

Today I got the time to plant flowers, and a gabi, as planting is one of my hobbies. It’s good weather to plant because these past few days, it rained consecutively that’s why I did not plant, so I am so happy that it’s sunny. First, I obtained a compost in the compost bin. This compost was from vegetables and fruits, and from food scraps. I put it on this recyclable flower pot since I don’t have big flower pot to used. So, I planted here this RoseMary.

I have this plant Peperomia Argyreia. I reduced some of the leaves and stem because it’s grown up. Also, this American Rubber plant (Peperomia Obtusifolia). These plant, I get it when I was having my internship in one of the schools in our place. I found them appealing to the eye and it’s my first time seeing such flowers. By the way, I am a plantita, whenever I like a flower, I collect them but I need to ensure that it’s not pricey.

Moreover, I planted this Jade Plant that I got in the school. It’s a succulent plant that is thick, and fleshy. It’s one of my favorite plants because of the shape. Some of these I already planted it two months ago that’s why they are now growing. To plant a Jade plant, you just need to do cutting from the stem, either it’s small one the plant will grow. You just need to water it. To water the Jade plant, you just need to water it when the soil is dry. You have to pour the water slowly and make sure there is a hole in the pot. It should be watered at least two-three per week especially in summer. Do not over water because it can perish the plant and there’s a sign that the leaves are falling. So you must take note that plants are like human that when we overeat, there something that will happen to you.

I continued planting this plant, I use PlantNet to know what is it - you can also use this if you do not know what is the plant name, here you can learn the scientific name of the plant. There are varieties too that shows you the different kind of that plant. I find this catchy and I love the color that’s why I want to propagate lots of them. It can grow larger if you do not cut it. The name of this plant is, Copperleaf and its scientific name is Acalypha Wilkesiana. I temporarily plant in this recyclable pots for the main time, and I’ll observe if it will have roots.

I also panted this Caladium. I have varieties of this but I don’t know where they are haha since it always rain in our area before, so I guess it was already damage and wash out by the rain. I find this flower as like as butterfly. As you can see there are spots that resembled the color of the wings of a butterfly. My aunt said that I need to be careful when uprooting the entire of it when transferring to another pot because it might damage and it wont survive if ever. So I followed her insight when I planted it.

After this, I planted some gabi (elephant’s ear). I transferred some of this in the area where I can water them. This one, we can mix it in our viand like when we cook pork or chicken or can be alone. But you need to make sure that you have to let it cook, do not keep uncovering or mixing it because there will be aftertaste like you'll feel itchy in your throat, something like that when you swallowed after. My grandmother said, do not put salt too when it is boiling, just wait after it is cook. I followed this instruction somehow it it taste good.

Also, here are some of the plants I collected when I once visited a plant shop last year.

Well I’m thinking to have greenhouse for these, maybe afterwards when I have the time to take good care of them. I also have some picture that my aunt planted in our mini backyard. We have this mulberry. She covered it with net because our chicken keep on eating them lol.

This flower also, only that thrive in this area. I get cuttings of it but I just soak it in the water. I need to make that the roots will sprout before planting it - this is one of the things that I learn when you’ll plant this flower. They said that when you plant it right away, the roots will not come out. Let me wait for the roots to come out then, and I will update you about it haha.

I am thinking also if I will plant vegetables in this area but I’ll think what vegetables I will plant here. One more thing that make me think to plant is that, in the market vegetables are too costly. What I like too when growing your own vegetables, you cannot put pesticides on it, and it will become organic that is I like the most. You can consume the food without thinking anything.

So, I'll end my blog here, I hope you like it hehe.

It's clear that you work hard in your garden. I love that we all, in one way or another, look for ways to make compost or acquire good soil for our plants. We have some plants in common. I loved seeing your photos. Best regards.

Try doing something to make the soil a little drier. You could add husks or something else to make your plants grow thicker and healthier.

Congratulations, you are doing very well with your garden, the soil is important for the plants to progress. Some of these plants I have seen in some gardens and also in wooded areas. I didn't know that about the gabi plant, also I didn't know it, I imagine it brings a rich flavor to pork and chicken meats. Cheers.
