Please explain how it's annoying to use? I ask because I use it almost daily and have no problems using it. Works the same as Bitcoin, only private, cheaper, and faster.
Those are valid issues. The first one never bothers me because I don't usually spend money that quickly. Plus that is a security feature of the blockchain, not a bug. It helps secure the transactions and makes sure that they are valid because of the lack of transparency that chains like BTC has. Most proof of work chains you have to wait till a certain number of confirmations before you can send the coins again. Proof of stake is different because the transactions don't have to pass through so many nodes and miners, which is a bug in my opinion, even with HIVE. I mean, Hive only has 20 main block validators as we have seen in the past, can be attacked. So I am fine to wait a bit for some confirmations to make sure my digital money is safe and secure.
And the second one isn't an issue for me because I don't use a traditional 'hardware wallet'. I have an older phone that I keep secure and offline in a safe only until I need the funds, so that works for me. Plus, I remember my seed phrase...
But from my experience with a Ledger when I did use one, you have to have an additional program like Ledger Live to use it for anything. Monero was actually just as easy to use on it as BTC was on it.
DASH is not private by default though and most people don't think to use the private transactions. That defeats the purpose of having those features, same with ZCASH. That's why they aren't really used at all in commerce by true privacy advocates, no matter how much Joel wants to push it. Which he is the only 'influencer' I see trying to push it anymore, haha. I moved some funds into DASH when they started with it on LeoDex, but it all ended up in XMR anyway.
Monero has a much bigger community that is actually trying to build a circular economy and bigger market cap than DASH (28 vs 243 in market cap listing), so I'll stick to what is really being adopted instead of moving funds to a fairly dead chain. There is more to it than fast confirmations. Fast confirmations also opens up security issues.
Does leodex has XMR as swapping Option?
No, I have asked, but apparently it's 'too complicated' for the Thorchain or Maya protocols to include. But that's fine too, there are several DEXs being built out for the Monero ecosystem that I can use. I use Simpleswap to go from Hive to Monero, or go from Hive to LTC, then LTC to XMR.
Simpleswap is not a dex, it is an API that has DEX Accounts at the backend
I am very well aware dude... I have been in this space for many years at this point and know how DEXs vs aggregators work. I own and run an EVM based DEX aggregator... The point is, I'll use what works for the job that I need. You have a better way to get from Hive to Monero? I haven't found one yet. If there were a better way, I would use it.
Market cap does not reflect true price/usefulnes
Dogecoin is more worth than xmr, even though it is a useless fork of bitcoin/litecoin
The fact that Monero 28, while being delisted on just about every major exchange, and being the most used currency on the dark web, speaks volumes on it's usefulness. Regardless of that though, I'll take default privacy over anything else. That's why most of my Hive and other rewards like LTC and DOGE mining rewards all go to XMR. Not to mention the fact that it is currently out performing BTC in a YTD comparison.
