Where voices are heard, where wounds are healed
In the presence of justice, fairness and compassion
Can we challenge the world we know?
A world we live with daily headlines of inequality
Where justice is not always fair, but often selective
Can we transform the world we live?
An abode of conflict carved from the hard rock of disagreement
Where hate, jealousy and wickedness commune
Can we build a world of peace?
With bricks made of understanding and compassion
And many hands working in harmony regardless of race, wealth or position
Can we have a world of peace?
Growing in empathy, education and understanding
Where we recognise the pain of others as our own
Can we have a world of peace?
Through discipline, we nurture it again and again
And in persistence, we recognise its power of transformation
Can we dream of that world of peace?
One that moves through us with each decision to love
Where we refuse to hate and simply forgive
Can we have a world of peace?
