The Qualities I Seek In A Study Partner : HSCP-WK16

Greetings to all my wonderful colleagues and fellow students. I believe we are doing very well? I'm always so eager to take part in this community because i do enjoy the contest hosted and the thought contribution we make through our post. There is quite a lot to learn here and i'm glad being part of this forum!..

What qualities do you value most in a friend or study partner?

A friend is someone you can trust and rely on. She is that one person that understands you and can never break your back nor cause you pain. She literally comes second after your family but it is quite unfortunate "i don't do friends" and i do not have a friend to trust. Trust is hard, so i will rather emphasize on my reading partner.

The kind of reading partner i value is that one partner that motivates me to keep studying, even if it's a little time left. I stated this because often times i feel like it's not entering my brain, but with my partner, we choose to break down each topic in our simplest understanding.

Have you ever had someone who made studying easier or harder?

Normally I prefer studying alone because i get to break it down in whichsoever form can be easy for me, either using acronym or some other better means of understanding. But as i went days here in school i found someone who actually made studying easy and very understandable for me. Amarachi made studying an interesting one for me although i still prefer it alone most times.

Do you go into selecting someone to study or collaborate with?

I actually do not do such, rather this my roomie who is also my reading partner came to me first and ever since then i haven't approached anyone. I dont know how to approach them but will learn to do that.

When it’s time for group projects, do you find reliable people or not?

I'm just in love with my group members. We actually get to share ourselves, which is an assignment done by the course rep. And it happens to be that we aee very cooperative and very eager to help one another in our grpup.

What can you tell us about the importance of having study partners, or do you think it’s not necessary?

Having study partner is good but if you prefer studying alone it's fine. Here are the importance of having study partner.

  • You get to explain better in your understandable ways.
  • Create an atmosphere of examination mode.

Creating the examination mode is very important,I had study groups that did that for me nice entry

Study partners are important on their own way. When you can have one or a reliable one, do so.

It's lovely that even though you find it difficult to approach people for things like reading, you do not decline when they come to you. It's also a great thing that you know how to read alone. I love reading alone as well, and I believe it's a necessary habit for every student to have because your reading partners will not always be available 24/7.

However, the idea that "you don't do friendships" might be a little unsettling as one can rarely do life without friends. I do hope that in the future, you will consider getting in a community with others, especially women, because truly, half of life is lived when we share our days with others.
