Nurses Selfcare Matters
Nurses are trained to preach the gospel of health and also promote good health. Despite your busy schedule as a Nurse endeavour to "Eat well", "reduce stress", "get enough rest", also "prioritize your wellness.

We get to repeat these words to our patients like commandments that shouldn't be broken. But between night shifts, endless rounds, emergency calls, we stop living by them ourselves.
We often tell patients to get some sleep, but yet we go days, barely 3 hours of rest. We talk to them on the importance of nutrition, but then we survive on cold noodles, leftover coffee and snacks. We never stop to give advocate on mental wellness, but then see as we rarely take time to breathe, cry, or even heal from what we see in the medical line.
NURSING IS A CALLING, YES!!!. But yet shouldn't cost us our well-being.
Overtime, we have mastered the art of showing up for others(care and concern),and now i think it’s time to show up for ourselves as well. Do you know why? Because the health of the healer matters too just as much as the healing we offer.
