Moi-Moi : Local Nigerian Meal

One thing i like about my country is for the fact that we can make food even from the least resources. I like to consume anything that has proteinous content. See below more details.

Ingredients for preparing Moi-Moi

▪Beans (The one for moi-moi)
▪ Onions
▪ Seasoning cube
▪ Crayfish
▪ a little Groundnut oil
▪ pepper.
(Other people adds more ingredients like egg etc).

Preparation

The preparation of this food is quite a little tough and time wasting.

▪ Put water into a bowl and pour in beans , allow it to soften then wash either with your hands or engine to remove the pericarp of the beans.

▪ Next thing to do is, to rewash just to ensure the peels are out.

▪ Prepare your onion, the pepper and every other necessary ingredients needed to grind together with the beans.

▪ After grinding, get a bigger bowl where you will be able to tydn it very well and add your salt, seasoning cube, and groundnut oil.

▪ After that, find a place, preferably a stainless moi-moi plate or there is a leaf for it. The both are good but the one i wouldn't advice is the plastic plate nor the nylon pattern.

▪According to what medium you are cooking with, you can give it about 37-40 minutes to be done.

Then you can enjoy it with anything you like. I chose to enjoy mine with raw garri mixed with ovaltine chocolate and sugar.
