The Gu Family Book Review; Kcontest.
Hey guys, it's another week for us to talk about K-content, and some of the most followed K-content are Kdrama and K-music. In today's contest, I would be talking about a Kdrama that I watched a long time ago that left an imprint on me. Back then, I wasn't a big fan of Kdrama, but this series made me love Kdrama the more.
I know many of my friends here must have watched it, but if you haven't watched it, stay with me as we journey through this amazing series.
This series is known as
The Gu Family Book / Kanchi.
The Gu family book is one of my favorite Kdrama, if not the best among all. I love the actor, and another reason I love it is that it was done in the old Korean times when swords and kings were still in use.
The forbidden love between Kanchi's father and his mother produced an immortal monster. Now, Kanchi's father is a spiritual being who has superhuman power, and because of that, humans killed him, which made him come back as a thousand-year demon.
Before he came back, Kanchi had grown, and when the threat of his father came up, he had to do everything he could to protect the lady he loved and protect the people who brought him up.
After his birth, his mother left him, and he was raised by someone else.

Another reason I love this series is that it shows a lot of Korean culture, their dressing style, the food they eat, their words, and how they respect each other.
From watching Kdrama, I have learnt some words, but I can never compare to @merit.ahama. She's the boss, and if you check her hive page, she did a song video and sang everything in Korea.
I know some of the cast from The Gu Family Book, and I am always excited to see them in movies now. At the end of the series, it was sad to see kanchi lover die, even his best friend, but there is always something about reincarnation. After hundreds of years, the lover was reincarnated, and because kanchi is an immortal being, he reconnected with his lover again, and that was the perfect ending.
Here is a trailer for you.
Thanks for reading. My name is Fashtioluwa.
Lol let the speaking Korean Merit breathe! 😂
I love this series so much when I saw it, I remember we used dvd to watch from start to finish.
hehehehe, I won't let you rest. Anywhere I see a korean person I will mention your make and if possible, bring you there if its an online discussion.
Lol I'm in trouble I guess, or is this also a kind of popularity? 😂
Kumawo🙏, for bringing up this movie. I never knew that was this movie's title. I always called it kanchi. You forgot to add his beads that kept him human and how his adoptive family were all killed by an evil minister.
This was an interesting movie

Very interesting your review, I have never seen this kdrama I will add it to my list.
The mixed feelings of sadness at the end and hope for rebirth are deeply captured in your words.
