The Challenge of Working from Home. Let's talk from experience.

Many times, when my friends who we graduated from school together ask me, "Where do you work?" and I tell them, "I work from home," their usual response is, "Whaoo, you are enjoying" this and that. Many did not even know the challenges people working from home face.

Hello friends, welcome to my blog. My name is Fashtioluwa here on Hive, and I am a technical writer who works for Progfams Technology.

The only devices I use while working from home are my laptop and router. My router is essential because, without the internet, there is no way I can get my work done. Every morning, I have to join a joint meeting with the tech team at 8:45 am, and the fact is that, after that meeting, I still have so many other personal meetings scheduled with different members of the team so we can all be on the same page.

Sometimes I just wonder if it is really worth it. I hardly get out of the house, and I haven't even made any new friends. It's like my social skills keep depreciating. At first, when I first started working from home, my dad was worried because he believed there was nothing like working from home. He is a man who believes in "going out to get your daily bread" and I was the "work smart and not hard" kid.

Some people started saying I was into fraud, but I never minded them because they did not know how far the world had advanced. Since most of what I do is technical writing and managing content for our company's social platform, most of the tools I use are on microsoft 365

Working from home can get really lonely sometimes, especially when you don't have anyone around to cheer you up or help you with simple things like shopping and cooking. Most of the time while working I miss my girlfriend and friends; everyone is so busy trying to make something for themselves.

Most evenings, I would just take a stroll in my estate with the determination to get a girl's number but after I start working, I would just be lost in my thoughts as I enjoy walking a long distance. Even when I see the beautiful girls in my estate, I know getting their number would be a waste of time because I wouldn't have the time to call or chat them up.

How do I cope with it all?
Most time, when I wake up in the morning, I follow the schedule I have set for the day, I make sure I eat and exercise well before starting anything. It gets my blood pumping and makes it possible for me to shoot into the day full of life. I make calls to my loved ones, I chat with friends, and I watch anime.

Then go out to a friend's place in the evening to chat about the day. This way I have been able to keep up mentally and achieve things I wanted to.

If you see anyone working from home, don't think about them making lots of money and how you are going to bill them. Think about their mental health and how you can help them keep their balance. Thanks for reading.

This is my entry for the #julyinleo day 28. It's always fun to do the inleo daily challenge, if you want to know more and you are interested. You can read more Here
