The bravery of a child who saved her mother.
Whenever I reflect on Fiyin's Act, I find myself wishing for a daughter just like her. The story I'm about to tell took place seven years ago, before Fiyin and her mother moved to the United States of America. Our families became friends with the Balogun's from the day we met; they were incredibly welcoming. Fiyin's mother, being the younger sister of our sole tenant (Mommy Misturah), moved into our neighborhood with Fiyin to be nearer to their relatives.
Three months after Mummy Misturah and her family left our rented apartment, Mummy Fiyin started falling sick. After each treatment, she would feel better, and then in few weeks, she would fall sick again. My mom was always going to check on her because she was all we had left in the neighborhood.
On one hot afternoon, my mother's phone wouldn't stop ringing. The caller ID showed it was Mummy Fiyin. When she answered, it turned out to be Fiyin on the line.
Fiyin: Hello, mummy.
My mom: Hello, Mummy, Fiy... (She stopped as she noticed it was a child voice on the phone.) Fiyin, why are you using your mommy phone to call? You are wasting her card, right? Go and give her the phone now.

She didn't even allow Fiyin to speak before she ended the call. She believes Fiyin was playing with her mom's phone. Her phone rang again, and the caller was Mummy Fiyin. So, she picked
My mom: Hello, Mummy Fiyin.
Fiyin: Hello, mummy. Its fiyin.
My mom: Why are you calling with your mommy phone?
Fiyin: My mommy is not feeling fine.
My mom: Yes, I know, and I was at your place this morning. Fiyin, I am busy. I will call you when I am done. (Then she ended the call.)
Ten minutes later, Fiyin arrived at our house to visit my mom. I was in the living room watching TV, and my mom was in her bedroom. "Uncle Tiolu, where's Mummy?" she asked. My initial response was, "Can't you greet?" But the expression on her face stopped me; something was wrong. I lifted her into my arms and asked, "What's wrong?" Her reply was a worried, "My mommy."

I took her to my mom immediately, and my mom was surprised to see her. I did not even know they had already had a conversation on the phone before, so my mom asked her what she was doing at our place, and she said
"My mommy is sleeping, and she's not waking up. I have wake her up, but she's not waking up." Then Fiyin started crying. The words alone were enough to give me goosebumps. My mom and I rushed to her home, and what we found was very shocking: Mommy Fiyin was on the bed, unconscious. After we tried to wake her up, my mom began to shout and cry for help while I checked her pulse. I saw she was still breathing, so I rushed to get a bike, but a man offered to drive us to the hospital, and we took the offer because we were desperate.
We got her to the hospital, and after very long hours, she was back up. We were all happy, then we told her what her daughter did. She hugged her, and they started crying. It was after everything has happened, I realized how intelligent fiyin was cause many kids her age wouldn't know what to do. At that time, her husband was in the United States; after he heard what happened, Fiyin and her mom traveled out of the country in two months. What pained me the most was that the last time I spoke with Fiyin, she said she didn't know who I was. I wasn't too surprised because it's been 7 years already.
Thanks for reading. This is my entry for the hive learners week 114 episode 1 edition.

Yeah
Thanks man
I wish I had a picture of her, I would have uploaded it
What a smart girl indeed. Thank God for the smart move because only God knows what what would have happened
Exactly.
I was surprise she could think that fast and call for help immediately,
Sad part is that she doesn’t even remember me again cause back then she was just 5years old
