My Aunt And The Down Pour
My family is a very big and loving family. I still don't know how my parents found themselves and made a very good extended family. I know almost everyone in my dad's family and even the extended family from his side. It's the same for my mom's side too. I have met so many family members, but I haven't met anyone who tells a story like my mom's sister. She's a big aunty to me and I always love it when she's around because we get to hear different stories of her and my mom when they were young. Her stories are always interesting and I believe them.

The day she wanted to return back to her home after visiting us, the cloud was watching her. Anytime she steps out of the house, the cloud will go dark, and when she steps back inside, it will brighten; it was like the cloud wanted to play hide-and-seek with her.
She spent two hours going in and out; I was like, "Maybe God did not want you to leave today," but she gave me that goofy look and said she would get to her house even if it rained fire.
She stepped out and the sky was dark again but this time she look up and was like, "You can't decieve me; if you like fall like the time of Noah, I will get home." She set off to the bus stop, which was a bit far from our home. We all waved her goodbye and then went back inside the house.
Just 10 min to her department, the rain started, and this rain wasn't the one that would start so slowly before it goes god mode. The rain started falling so heavily from the start, like someone had made a threat to it.
30 min later, we heard someone banging on our door. "Bang bang, gba gba," like the person was going to break it down. I rushed to the door and asked who it was and the voice that came was the voice I thought would have left my city. It was my aunty's voice: "Open, please open the door."
I opened the door and she rushed in; in a few minutes, she had changed her wet, dirty cloth and was ready to explain what happened.
She sat down on the sofa, wrapped in a wrapper, sipping hot tea like a warrior returned from battle. Then she started:
"You people will not believe what happened o! When I got to the bus stop, it was as if the rain had been waiting for me personally. The moment I stood at the bus stop like a single woman, Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr the sky started crying o. Not like ordinary rain o this one was beating me like I owed it money!
We all looked at each other.
"The rain wasn't even falling anywhere, it was falling on only me" she continued
"I said, 'No o, I can’t die here. Let me go back before this rain washes me to another state.'
"That’s how I turned back. I know if I stay there, the rain will slice me. On my way back, I met another ocean at that junction"
I know our area to be a flooded place when it rained so I kinda believe that part.
"I stepped into the water, I wanted to walk o, that was how I started drowning. It wasn't easy, thank God I can swim. Thats how I started swimming o. I swear, in the middle of the swimming, I saw a crocodile and I had to swim the other way. I was already saying my last prayers."
We all look at ourselve with our mouth open this time. Then she continued.
"The crocodile was dragging my bag, but thank God, I saw on man inside canoe that help and that was how I was able to get here. I will give testimony in church on sunday" She said then sip her tea again.
We all went back to think of the story we just heard. since then I was scared of entering the erosion water because I always think there would be a crocodile in it.
Thanks for reading. My name is Fashtioluwa.
We'd be more than happy to welcome her into our state😂. Your aunt seems like a hilarious person.
This particular crocodile is a thief because why drag my bag of all things?
Maybe it was a human on costume.
ahahah, I wouldn't want her to go to another state because i love her stories. You know how your mom and a person can spend 1k airtime talking. Thats my anuty, and I do love her because when she's around, she's so free. I can freely tell her anything about myself, things I wouldn't tell anyone because she was very open to us while growing up.
That's a very dear aunt.
It's the crocodile story for me 😂 Not even frog or toad
She must be an actor 😁
hahahah, she really is a actor. There is never one dull moment with her.
Awwnnn I like that
The lady can exaggerate! 😅
But that could be truth too because in my area, once it rains heavily, the flood carries all manner including catfish and snakes
ahhh, snake keh. I dare not enter that kind of water then.
Tor.
Flood water carries all manner of things
Welll, true true
