(Edited)

Hello Manga and anime lovers, it’s another new week, if you’re a frequent person in “The anime realm” you would know today is manga Monday. #mangamonday6

I feel really exited to talk about the manhwa title Existence. I read the manhwa 1 year ago and it popped up in my reading collection so I decided to share it with you all. The image above is the MC name Jain Lee.

One day, it was a herd of ants, and another day, it was a large dinosaur. This was the last reincarnation of a being that had experienced tens of thousands of reincarnations and lives.
He was born as a human with the power of every single life form he had ever been.
Why did he have such an ability? Lee Jain finally came to understand.
“I exist to eradicate mankind.”

Existence is a must-read manhwa that explores the horrors and beauty of human nature. The manhwa is completed so you don’t have to worry about waiting for the next chapter, it has 72 chapter which you wouldn’t want to stop reading when you start.

The story follows the main character, Jain Lee, who has been alive since the beginning of the world and has the ability to think and learn. He becomes human in his supposed last life and meets someone he would protect at all costs, even if it means killing all humans and destroying the world.

Story
The story is presented as a conflict between nature and man, exploring the role humans have on the planet and whether they deserve to live or not. The first seven chapters are a rollercoaster of emotions, with a phenomenal construction that makes the reader empathize with the characters. The manhwa ends too soon, leaving some potential unexplored, but it's still an engaging story.

Spoiler!!!
After Jain Lee was born as a human, he has no feelings or empathy for them because all his life’s he was killed by human, either for sport, for food, for fun, or human just being human. He has resented them all the life he has reincarnated as, he wanted them dead but he never imagine he would be born as one. After his birth as a human, he tried his possible best not to relate with them but the love of a mother supersede human understanding. His mother so much love him that she gave her life for him in the attempt to protect him from human. With all this happening, he swore to eradicate all humans from earth. Will that happen? You will have to read to know what changed him to the person that’s trying to eradicate humanity to the one trying to protect it.

Characters

  • Jain Lee:

He is a being with conflict between nature and man. His power is cool to see, but his change of mentality could have been handled better. He way he handle human at first wasn’t what everyone would picture but he can’t be considered a human and yet he is one. He has come to love just one person all through his billions of life and that person is his mother.

  • Oh Youngshil

A young lady who lost everything to war but her husband left her with a seed and that seed turned out to be the wonder boy. Though her son couldn’t talk but she never stop telling him “I love you” which actually changed something in him. She is a side character that only appeared in the first 5 chapter of the manhwa but the role she played affected the rest of the chapters.

  • Ah Leesu:

Let’s say Ah Leesu was the muse that kept Lee in balance. Why is that, she reminded him of his mother, after Lee’s mother pass away and the ones who helped him, he has leaves in solitary for years without aging. The day he plan to make human go extinct was the day he met Ah Leesu who reminded him of his mother. Along the way he lost his memories and how to use his powers which was a little bit of Ah Leesu fault so she has no choice but to bring him home.

There are other interesting side characters you would love when you read the manhwa.

Art
The art is fantastic, with well-done drawings and many noteworthy panels. The drawing style is immersive, making the reader feel like they're part of the story.
The artist name is Kim Kyeong-Jun while the author name is Gwang Jin.

Conclusion
Existence is a quick but emotional read, offering many moments that make the reader think. It's not perfect, but it's a good story with themes that make you meditate on things we often ignore. It's recommended for those who enjoy a good, emotional read. I’m sure people who advocate for climate change will love to read this.

  • "Existence" is a unique manhwa that stands out from other power fantasy stories. It has a more serious and philosophical tone, but some premises behind the MC's philosophies are straight-up wrong and don't make sense given the knowledge he has which is what makes him human. Sometimes our philosophy can be right but our approach to making it happen can be totally wrong.

The art is really good too and the genre consist of adventure, action, drama, fantasy, little of romance, tragedy, philosophical view, thriller and life lesson.

If I’m to rate the manhwa, I would give it 8.5/10. That’s how good it is, because it’s not all about the action but also about the message it was trying to pass. Ok, I’ll give it a 8.9/10. You should give it a try.

Thanks for reading.
