Identity Crisis: The Madness We Now Call Wokeness

There was a time when there were things people did, and we classified them as being mentally unstable. This time was a time of order where people acted according to the moral ethics of the society, not because they were scared of what people would say about them but because they were trying to show a good example to the kids that were coming before them but it is sad today that the world has become a place full of madness. People lived by moral standards, not just out of fear of public judgment, but because they understood the importance of setting an example for the younger generation. They knew that what you tolerate in your day becomes the foundation for what your children accept in theirs.

Fast forward to today, and sadly, the world has become a place where confusion is celebrated and sanity is questioned. We are now witnessing what I can only describe as a global identity crisis, and it’s being wrapped in bright packaging and labeled as “wokeness.”

You might be wondering what exactly I mean by “madness.” I’m talking about the loss of identity. I’ve seen countless videos, read numerous articles, and observed real-life situations where people no longer seem to understand who they are, and worse, they are praised for this confusion. We call it progress. We call it enlightenment. But I don’t see it that way. I see it as a deep form of societal confusion, one that our ancestors would look upon with heartbreak and disbelief. Back in the day, when a person had an identity crisis, the first people they called for them were the psychiatric doctors to check up on them, because it was a sign of madness.

And yes, I know this may not sit well with everyone. But like the old saying goes, “The truth is always bitter.”

Let me begin with the point where a man claims to be a woman, or a woman insists she is a man. This self-identification movement gave rise to what we now know as “transgenderism.” At first, it was an individual choice, and society, perhaps out of compassion, decided to be tolerant. But instead of stopping there, it became a full-blown movement, one that has now extended its arms toward children.

Now, kids, who can’t even fully grasp how their bodies or minds work, are being told they can pick their gender like they’re picking an outfit. And worse, they are being encouraged by adults who should know better. We now live in a world where a child saying, “I feel like a boy today,” becomes a serious case for hormone therapy or surgery. This is not wokeness. This is not freedom. This is confusion passed down as a legacy.

But here’s what gives me a bit of hope: In some parts of the world, there seems to be a quiet return to sense. One particular nation that had deeply embraced this confusion now seems to be turning a corner. With a new administration and new policies in place, efforts are being made to draw a clear line between adult choices and childhood innocence. Finally, someone has had the courage to say, “Enough.”

It’s refreshing to see a government that acknowledges that while adults may choose their paths, even if controversial, children must be protected. Not indoctrinated. Not exploited for movements they don’t understand. Protected.

We don’t need to cancel compassion or silence individual struggles. But we must not allow feelings to override biological truth, especially not when it comes to shaping the minds of our children. There is still a place for empathy in our conversations, but it must be rooted in truth and responsibility, not trends or applause.

Our ancestors lived in societies where structure mattered. Where identity wasn’t up for debate. Where being “woke” wasn’t about tearing down boundaries but about building better communities.

The world may never return to what it once was, but if we are brave enough to speak the truth no matter how bitter it tastes, maybe, just maybe, we can pull ourselves out of this spiral of madness and remember who we truly are.

The truth like you already said is bitter. They say we are in the genz era now so all this are allowed. There's no difference from what is right or wrong anymore.
You even see parents supporting their children in going transgender and saying it's their fault. There little we can do .
You can only work on your family @fashtioluwa .
Nice write up

I don't think there is little we can do, I believe there is more we can do and can be done. We just need to make a stand against all this.
Thanks for your contribution. I do appreciate it.

This identity issue is something that I as a person cannot keep quiet about.

What do you mean by feeling like a bit when you are a girl?

One created in the image of God. Some even confuse the angels sent on assignment to them 😂😂😂

Identity issue is a serious issue and it should not be sidelined.
