You are right. Easter is very significant because of the death and resurrection of Jesus from death.
To further add to your explanation, Easter is also a reminder that we do not die in vain because if God could raise Jesus up on the 3rd day just as prophecy stated, then God can raise us up on the last day plus as many that believe in Jesus.
