A Honest Opinion About My Device.

Technology has evolved so much that we can't do without it in our day-to-day lives and one of the things that has evolved over the years and keeps changing is our mobile phone. Many times, when we wake up in the morning, the first thing we do is take up our phone to check the time or start our daily devotions. Yes, I also do my daily devotions on my phone because I have an app for it, even my morning exercise and this has brought up some interesting topics for us to discuss.

Can we as humans not do without our phones? I mean, can we go a day without our phone or are we simply addicted to it? In today's article that I'll be sharing in the Hive Learners community, we will be discussing the above-asked question and at the end you can tell me your thoughts about it.

As a person who basically does most of my basic things on my phone, like having daily schedules and meetings planned on my phone calendar, setting up meetings, my daily devotions, and morning exercise, can I really go a day without my phone?

The answer is no, but does that mean I can't do without my phone? The answer is also no. The fun fact is, after I have planned my schedule and I'm done with my devotions and exercise, I hardly ever hold my phone for the day, inasmuch as my laptop is on and the electricity doesn't go off.

Now, my honest opinion about if I can't go hours without my phone or devices? This made me remember what happened yesterday. I was really overwhelmed with a lot of things currently going on in my life and it felt like I was going to break down. What I did was that I went out, outside of my city and I dropped both my phones at home. While I was out, my mind felt relaxed, and I saw a lot of things I had always missed anytime I'm on the road because my face was always buried in my phone.

Apart from this, there are times I don't use my phone or devices, like Sundays. When I'm in church, I dare not use my phone, and our services are from 7 am to 11 am. Then when I'm home, I'll be so tired I'll just want to eat and sleep. Most Sundays, I only get to touch my devices at night and this is already a norm for me.

So yeah, I can go many hours without my phone but on most days when I don't have any work to do. I don't think I can practice staying away from my phone when I know my boss might call me at any given moment or I have some meetings to attend to. My laptop screen is always on, and my phone is always charged. If I have nothing to do, I'll just play a game and then get back to work.

This is my honest opinion. Thanks for reading. My name is Fashtioluwa.

I also have a friend whose phone serves as everything for him, even a reminder for his morning and night devotion.
