You can learn to be good or bad

This is the third edition of week 173 and I'm very happy to bring forth my entry. It's been quite an amazing time engaging with other authors and learning from their well of experiences across all borders. This community has really improved my writing skills and social interaction with other participants. The focus for this edition is on the issue of human trait.

Do people learn to be good or bad?

I can't say yes or no here because this like a dice that has two sides. This can be considered in two different phases. Normally every human being has particular trait or the other that the children inherit in the passed to the children whereas some of the traits are influenced by other factors. People learn to be good or bad. Recently I have been in serious discourse with my lovely wife concerning the trend happening in our generation. We explored the recent attitudes of children to parents and parental approaches to children development as well. We noticed that there is need for a wake up call to both parties. A child or people can't just good except work is done intentionally without any prejudice. Let me restrict myself to the premise of children. A child can learn how to be good or bad by the virtue of the lifestyle displayed by parents, or school or environment or peer groups. A child can decide to copy behavior of others thinking that's the right way things are to be done. I have been trying to unset an abysmal behavior displayed by son which is not consistent to the tenants of what I believe. I try to work on him as a parent to ensure that he's properly shaped for life and his generation.

There are certain families that have come to a point where they are consistent over a particular thing. This kind of trait could be traced to other generations. For instance an act of goodness. I have seen families where the grandfather displayed such character and even the grand and great grand Children walked in the same pattern of life. You can give what you don't have. Some parents don't actually have what it takes to sustain and build a child in a positive dimension but they would be claiming that the child is proving to be difficult and stubborn. I don't tend to believe this kind of assertion. Most children learn by what they see us do as parents.

The blueprint as to have a bad or good child hmmm that I can say because I haven't seen that. The only thing here is that parents must be ready to work and keep good legacies for their children. Parents must guide their wards in the path of righteousness. Most of the display of traits I see today are actually learned because of the kind of environment we've found ourselves. The basic societal norms has been bastardized and our attention has been shifted from the reality to pursue something different.

I have a teenager staying with me and over time I kept struggling with some of his kind of attitude. The big question still remains can I unlock and unset the kind of attitude I dislike? Hmmmmm I have been trying my best anyway to ensure that he learns good things from the way I live my life.
