TREKKING IS THE ORDER OF THE DAY
The subject for this edition is quite amazing because it's the resent challenge that has befallen my dear country Nigeria. I really wonder how the community gets this kind of timely theme that always strike chords in my spirit.
Transportation system is key and very important. Transportation has do with movement from one point to another. I doubt whether there is any living thing that doesn't move from one point to another infact from my elementary science, I have been taught that movement is a characteristic of living things.
In this post, I intend to share some transportation challenges that has befallen us and how it be solved. There are different types of mode of transportation in Nigeria. We have transportation by air, water/sea and land. The Common one that is the land transportation. This involves the use of vehicles, animals etc. It's one of the best because it's less expensive compared to other means of transportation.
The major setback we have now in the transportation system is the issue of fuel. The price of fuel has gone beyond control now except the lord intervene if not... This is not only attributed to the private individuals alone but the general public. It's really biting on everyone such that I know the number of persons that have parked their cars because they can't longer pay for the recent fuel price.
I noticed that the cost of fuel controls virtually everything in this nation. The higher the fuel price, the higher the prices of goods in the market. Last week, it was hectic for me that almost caused sickness. I had to trek miles just in an attempt to cushion the effect of fuel price. A drop on motorcycle is something else that one wouldn't want to hear. I resort to trekking though ordinary I wouldn't want that but apparently it's necessary. The dilemma remains what would eat, where is the money? How do you pay for transport now that the fuel is beyond control?
As I strolled out in the town, most of the petrol stations were closed and the ones serving aren't enough hence traffic on the major roads. The last time I traveled to Makurdi Benue state hmmmm I pitied even my sandals because of the leg movement. A liter of fuel was sold at #1500 this automatically increase the fare for our normally routes. My friend and I exhausted almost all we had just on transport to check on someone in the town.
Do you know that I hardly embark on journey again except it's necessary if not, I manage myself at home and look for what to eat. This morning, I have a program to attend some where far from my house guess what? I'm gonna trek down because I can't afford such high charge from the motorist.
The government need to step in to reduce this hardship incurred in the citizens. One of the ways to fix this challenge of fuel is to make sure the refineries in the nation are functioning well. A regulatory body should be saddle with the responsibility of monitoring other fuel dealers this might stabilize the price.
If you don't have the money try trekking it's an exercise and economical as well.
Thanks.
you are correct, the price of fuel controls everything in Nigeria, the cost of fuel has affected transportation to the point that it has made movement difficult for many people.
Oh yes. God will help us
To think everybody now trekks is still a mystery 🤔 Cost of transportation will humble you. In fact, we are now on a walking exercise 🤣🤣
