TIPS FOR ARGUMENT RESOLUTION
One of the process of life journey is hinged on how we handle and resolve conflicts. When i stumbled on the topic for this edition, i was so excited owing to the fact that we face varied challenges in life but what makes us strong and ready to navigate through other realms is embedded on the kind of arguments we have and how we settle it. In this post, one of my objectives is to share tips how arguments can be resolved and how i practically handle some situations.
Arguments occurs all the time and this emanate when there is no understanding or alignment of idea, view or perspective. I have had series of arguments in life and God helped me to settle some while others proved abortive despite the effort put together. There are different types of arguments and levels of arguments and how it can be resolved.
Argument could come from family or individuals or place of work. I remembered when i was working with an organization, a young man because of serious anger left his job and certificate he went through inductive training for. The guy was stubborn and doesn't want to take correction or instructions from his head. He feels he has capacity to be on his own and no one should be like a boss to him. This got me upset but couldn't help because i wasn't the CEO. Suddenly the guy left and forfeited his allowance and all other benefits for that period. Later, he started calling how would he process his results. Hmmm see what anger brought to him.
How do you settle arguments?
There are various ways arguments could be settled it depends on the nature and magnitude. For instance, there are many things that happens in marital homes which requires different kinds of tips to settle it. The way you settle argument from couples is far different from the way you do for children.
- One way to settle argument is by being humble. This has really rubbed some people privilege to advance to where God wants them to be. When you allow yourself to be overridden by pride definitely you won't be able to achieve anything. One of my policies is that when there's conflicts between two people, one must condesend and accept to be wrong if not you won't make any headway. One should accept to take the blame so that peace can be restored. Don't always insist on your right alone.
- Another way to settle arguments is to turn off when the tempo changes and the symptoms if anger is manifest, kindly turn off the discussion.
- Sometimes you need to engage in exercise or recreational activities. This would help to sort out things and cause a relaxation in the system.
- Having a good mentor is not bad this would help to receive good counsel and learn from some previous experiences.
- When there is arguments, you can pray for peace and restoration. I believe in the weapon of prayers.
####/ How do i ensure that argument doesn't end in regret
If you don't guide or control yourself definitely an argument can land you into big mess of trouble. When you don't discern, you end up arguing that later you would regret it. Sometimes i preferred being quiet than to make unnecessary input that could be detrimental. Be sensitive and know when to withdraw when your opinion doesn't count. We see differently and say things differently as well.
Thanks for reading through my entry for this edition.
You are right sometimes silence is the best answer rather then making un-necessary argument.

Arguments differs, and depending on the kind of people involved in an argument, there's a need to really think through what transpired before voicing out words... and yes, when the tempo is high, I pause and revisit the case after a while
Wow that's a good input. Thanks
