THE NEED FOR ALL FACETS LITERACY
For this second edition of week 174 came with another powerful theme which is literacy. The role of literacy in today's is key and vital equipment builds one's capacity to handle things. The positive impacts of literacy are obvious and can felt in so many areas of life endeavors.
One of the outstanding area of impact that education or being learned has done is in the aspect of career opportunities it has presented. When you are learned, it presents you and makes you better and well prepared to match up any opportunity as long as you have been equipped with the required skills. There is a difference between a learned person and an unlearned. Recently I had the privilege to work with some group of individuals that are into varied skills but what I discovered is credibility and packages of their businesses or skills. I strongly believe if their potential can be harnessed properly it should be able to produce something tangible. The guy had the skills but doesn't know how to put it together. I demanded for his corporate account hmmmm he doesn't have. I also pressed to find out whether he has a registered business he said no. This would affect him whenever he wants to delve into deeper business transactions with renounced organizations or government. Sometimes competitive advantage.
The impact of literacy also helps to bring about critical thinking to provide solutions to problems. Another area is in the aspect of granting an individual sufficient knowledge about other things. E.g you can't start a business without adequate information so that whatever happens you would bear the consequences.
Does literacy make one better?
Hmmmm this is like a two side of the coin but i can yes literacy makes one to be better and well developed. Literacy is not just restricted to the sphere of education or school but is all encompassing. All the areas of man needs to be properly trained and educated. Literacy does not just means to own or have a degree certificate or to have a talent or skill. The extend to which you would be literate is determined by the function of how open you are. You may be literate in a particular field and be lacking in another. For instance, someone might be too good in financial management or financial literacy but very poor when it comes to relationships. When you are open, you would receive which would make you better and improved.
Does literacy makes parents and neighbors better?
Oh yes it does. Just this evening i was in deep conversations with my lovely wife concerning how some people run their family affair. You would notice the man a barrister and woman may be medical personnel but that's not enough to take care of the family. There is need to be exposed and possibly learn from other people's experiences. Some parents act the way they do because they lack sufficient knowledge and information. Some parents don't bother about taking care of their children and even their entire well being while others inject the notion of always providing to their wards.
Being learned is not one sided but all round therefore it would foster lots of positive developments in the life of an individual and reduce the rate of negative experience. The more literate you are the less you reduce risk.
Thanks for reading through my entry.
You perfectly emphasizes the critical importance of literacy in various aspects of life, highlighting how it enhances career opportunities, critical thinking, and overall personal development. It argues that being well-rounded in knowledge and skills fosters positive outcomes and reduces risks, ultimately benefiting individuals and their families.
