SCIENCE TRANSFORMING THE WORLD

Science is everything and everything is science. This statement is true because when I stumbled on the topic for this edition and a free invitation given to me to write about science I couldn't hold. What do you think is not science? No wonder some other fields or subjects had to sandwich whatever they do with science such as social science, political science, etc. This implies that science is everything and everything is science.

Science is an interesting thing and it plays a key role in our daily lives and it's significance can be felt in all facets. Let me run down through some various aspect science is relevant.

• Technology and innovation. This is an integral part of the world today that can't survive without the input of science. Imagine the world without science what would have happened to where we are? The technological advancement has caused a quantum leap to the world . For instance the smart devices like phones, television and computers has really transformed the communication sector today. It's very easy to convey information no matter the distance from one end to another. I could remember the burial of one of our church members many years ago, I personally streamed it live for others to watch and it went viral. This is a clear evidence of technological advancement.The Internet facility has made it possible for people to surf through the net to gain lots of information.

• In health and medicine science has achieved a lot in intervening towards treatment, vaccines, disease control etc.

• Agriculture is an area that science has really played out . The impact is indelible because there's great sustainability in food security and agriculture because of the high breed of crops we have and some resistant crops which makes farming process easier with high yield. The introduction of agrochemicals has helped to improve soil fertility and control weeds.

• Transportation and other social amenities. Science has helped to build and create job opportunities in the areas of transportation and other social amenities such as electricity etc. This has really made life beautiful and enjoyable.

• Education is said to be the bedrock of any society. Science has great influence over the educational sector. Instructional materials and some educational aids enhances the level of understanding of most students today.

The impact of science is felt everywhere in everyday life.
Thank God I studied science precisely chemistry. The aforementioned areas are where chemistry has gained quite relevance and impactful grounds in the society today.
The impact of science can't be overemphasized.
