SOME HISTORICAL FACTS AREN'T GENUINE

History is a very important and integral aspect of life. The relevance of history is so much that I can't share all of it. When I stumbled on the topic for this beautiful edition, I was startled and never knew I could even drop something because of the nature of the entire question. I will try my best to attack the question as I can.

History can simply be put as a way of sharing in the present time. There are lots of stories and events that have occurred in the past which are being shared in the present time. A person who tells the story of the past in the present time is called a historian. This was a simple input that my secondary school teacher gave me. I never liked the subject initially because it sounds sometimes boring owing to the fact that it captures track records of events. In my ignorance I never knew it has great significance as time progresses. Today, it's history that enables one to trace and bring out authentic information about a particular place or event.

There are several things that occurred in the past. Some of these history shared are actually true while others are just mere fallacy that is cooked somewhere for some gains. There are varied reasons that give rise to the changes that occur in giving out the history of a particular thing. History is told most at times by the victors which is advantageous to only those who said it. They can make lots of benefits from it. In the course of this write up, I would share some history I believe is wrong however everyone seems to accept or think about it as right. I may not be able to correct such a perspective because it is possible such history is older than my parents talk more of my humble self.

If we are to consider the history of Nigeria, there are things that have been omitted deliberately. For example the civil war that happened some years back affected badly part of the country. Infact lots of lives were lost as a result of such things. It would interest you to note that the accurate number of casualties has been altered and some other vital scenarios has been muted so that it won't instigate readers and other up coming generation. The history of this civil war couldn't capture the accurate damage that happened to the victims. In fact a friend of mine shared how even the church was burned down while others even turned to residential houses. Books that were written and edited in lots of circumstances in order to send more negative impacts to readers which will yield an unforgivable heart of bitterness.

The civil war was used as a propaganda against the easterners. That they are planning on dividing Nigeria therefore every other region built strong resistance to this move which has been affecting them till now. The easterners can't voice out again even though they are being marginalized. This has caused a serious rift amongst the north verses the east and other parts of the region.

This kind of false information given about an event has caused untold hardship to the people from the east till date. Presently if they make attempt to vie for the position of president it would be difficult.

As a way forward, accurate information should be provided to avoid presumptuous thoughts...
