Hive-reachout initiative Week 47// MY PREFERRED KIND OF MARRIAGE

Marriage is a union between a man and a woman. There are different kinds of marriages that exist today in the world. There are different kinds of reasons that makes people go into marriages hence every marriage has its advantages and disadvantages. For the purpose of this entry, I would like to share my perspective on the kind of marriage I prefer.

In social studies during my elementary school I was told that some of the types of marriages we have included religious marriage, court marriage, Traditional marriage etc. The most preferred marriage is the religious for me. Under this there are different kinds of religion we have in the world however I would like to restrict myself to the one I know very well.

The best kind of marriage is Christian marriage. This is a kind of marriage that involves a man being married to only one wife bounded by lots of commitment and devotion. There is normally witnesses which stands to give their consent during the wedding. The most important role is played by the church who overseas everything and guides them to their marital life.

In christian marriage, there are different ways which one want to do it. It could be in the pastor's office or in the church depending on one's capacity.

Why I preferred this is because I am a Christian therefore I must represent what I profess or the believe I want. I would like to share benefits of Christian marriage.

• Christian marriage brings people together. I could remember when I got married, my wife is not from side infact it was a very great cross cultural marriage I did. My wife hails from the east while I came from the middle belt. Christian marriage helps you to build relationships across all kind of cultural tiles.
• Another advantage I see is that it's very beautiful. Starting from the planning to the day the priest or past pronounce husband and wife. You could see how the bride and the groom dresses together in a beautiful regalia dancing and celebrating together.
• Advantage of church wedding is that it encompasses both the court and church certification. This implies that there's acceptability of such wedding which would permit one to use the certificate in case of traveling outside Nigeria.

Marriage type does not determine how your home would be. Having a better and good home is a function of intensive work. Home is not automatic but requires hard work by the couple to fashion it into what they want.

In conclusion, as a married man I would like to advise the unmarried that marriage is not the function of the type but serious hard work by the couple. When you work hard, you would become an envy to others. Character is what matter most therefore go for good character.
