I read about a young guy from Ukraine who got robbed in Thailand. His name is Viacheslav, and he lost $250,000 in crypto. He was at a hotel when masked men tied him up, threatened him with weapons, and made him transfer the money. This isn’t the first time crypto holders have been targeted like this. It’s scary how some people take such risks just for money.

We all need to be with our valuables.

Should we use hot wallets?

He caused it to himself, that's why you shouldn't share your crypto win or wallet balance in the public whether internet or real life.

How does the thieves knows he has crypto on his phone. They probably knew him somewhere, either online or anywhere else.

Agreed.

I said that from experience. When I was involved in crypto in 2021, I did something foolish, sharing my wins and making post about them, and guess what? Wallets got hacked and funds stolen multiple times.

That's really unfortunate. Some people can actually dare the devil for money.
Anything we can do to keep our crypto safe is welcomed.

As stated, people need to keep their egos in check. No need to advertise it.

Well said, I think that's the only someone can know your wealth.

Come to think of it, does that not make Hive 's system of everyone knowing your account also kinda risky, especially if you reveal your identity.

Can't this situation happened to any hiver?

It is possible if you do that. Certainly we need to be careful. People can see what is there.

Of course, with Hive, if staked, you cant move the Hive around. It takes 13 weeks to fully power down.

That is a long time to hold someone hostage.

From the whole story it turns out he was advertising himself.
