W.E #91: Kitchen Duties.

In today's modern society, the idea that cooking is solely a woman's responsibility is outdated. Men and women should share the household chores to promote equality, mutual respect, and a healthier work-life balance.

Personally, I am against the mentality that women are meant for the kitchen while the men go to work. That was in the olden days when women were not allowed to work and they would be staying in the house and taking care of the house and the children.

In today's modern society, we have career women who go to work in the morning and come back in the evening and the husband would expect such a woman to be doing the house chores alone.

I am of the opinion that men should help out in the kitchen because it will relieve the stress for the women. Men helping out in the kitchen promote equality. Sharing cooking responsibilities helps to break down gender stereotypes and promotes equality in the household.

Men helping out in the kitchen encourages teamwork. Cooking and doing house chores together help partners to collaborate and it strengthens communication. Doing kitchen chores together can be fun for partners because that is when they spend quality time together.

*I remember an instance one day when a couple were having issues. Tthey were not on talking terms and they would go to work everyday without saying a word to each other. One day, they left as usual to work and in the evening it was the husband that came back first before the wife so he entered the kitchen and started preparing dinner. As he was busy in the kitchen, the wife entered and heard some noise in the kitchen so she walked to the kitchen only to meet her husband preparing dinner, she went to the room and dropped her bag and went to join her husband in the kitchen. Right there in the kitchen, they started talking to each other. They also began to play and make jokes using the fish and meat in the kitchen. Gradually, they began to talk things out and they apologized to each other and they reconciled. Now, the home is happy and peaceful because both of them now understand the stress involved in cooking.

From the story above, you can see that both of them cooking together in the kitchen did wonders for them. It also helped the couple to resolve their issues and caused harmony.

Men helping out in the kitchen also help them to acquire new cooking skills which can be a rewarding and confidence-boosting experience for them especially when his wife is sick or bedridden.

It also helps to reduce workload for women who often bear the brunt of house chores. Men helping out in the kitchen fosters bonding. Cooking together and doing household chores together can be a great way to spend quality time together, creating memories and strengthening the relationship. So I'm all in support of the men helping out in the kitchen 😁.
