They tried to have one final rooftop dinner, but the late-August storm had other plans.

Emmy was to leave the country in the next two weeks for a professional course abroad. This project was organized by her company for the period of eight months. She was very happy to be among those that were chosen by her company.

She was given two weeks leave by her company to get her prepared for the trip. During the two weeks leave, she decided to travel to her family house to spend some time with them.

She told her family that she was chosen by her company to travel abroad for a professional course. They were very happy for her but sad at the same time because they were going to miss her.

“Emmy when are you leaving?” Her mom asked.

"I will be leaving next Wednesday”, She replied.

“Okay, but before you leave, let's have one final dinner.” Her mom requested.

“Wow! Mom, I would like the dinner to be at the rooftop so that I will be able to admire the beautiful view for the last time.” Emmy pleaded.

“No problem, anything for you.” Her mom said.

She spent all the time she had with her family and she enjoyed every bit of it. A night before her departure, her mom went to the market to purchase the necessary things she would be needing to prepare the dinner. When she got back from the market, they started cooking and Emmy was with her mom in the kitchen and everything was ready by 7:00 P.M for dinner.

Emmy's siblings went to set the dinner table at the rooftop while Emmy and her mom were still in the kitchen dishing the food. Everything was set and the sat to enjoy their dinner. While they were chatting and eating, the weather changed and it started drizzling.

They were disappointed by the rain because it did not allow them to enjoy their dinner. So they started clearing the table and went inside.

Though the rain spoiled their rooftop dinner, Emmy still enjoyed the little time she spent with her family and it will be a memory she will cherish for a very long time.
