Love Betrayal.

Erica had been in a relationship with her boyfriend for over six years and it was going perfectly well. Erica believed that he was going to marry her one day.

Her boyfriend was a graduate, while she was not. She had a bukka where she sold food while the boyfriend was job hunting.

Everyday, her boyfriend would go out to look for a job and will come back with nothing positive. Erica would keep on encouraging him not to lose hope that everything will be fine one day.

She never saw him as a burden, because she was the one feeding him and taking care of most of his needs. He was loving and caring as well, assisting her in the shop and helping to serve customers. This made Erica to trust and believe in him the more.

One day, Ben, Erica's boyfriend went out as usual to job hunt, on his way he met with his old friend back in school and they started chatting.

“Hi Ben, it's been a while, where have you been?” Susan asked.

“My dear I have been around, it just that the country is not favouring me that is why I'm hiding" Ben replied.

Susan smiled, “Ben you are still the same funny guy I knew back then in school. I will see what I can do to help.”

They exchanged numbers and went their way. When Ben got home that day, he narrated how his day went and how he met his old time friend.

Weeks later, Ben received a call from Susan telling him that her boss is in need of a driver, whether he is interested. After hanging up, he told Erica what his friend just said.

“How can I be a drive with my qualifications?” Ben said.

“It not bad my dear, just start with that for now you don't know what God can do.” Erica encouraged.

“Okay, I will give a call to Susan telling her I will take the job.” Ben concluded.

Ben was called for an interview and the job was given to him. He started working as a driver while Erica continued with her a cooking business.

Two months into the job, Ben started coming home late and Erica became worried. When she asked him concerning his coming, home late, he would come up with one excuse or another just to cover up his cheating act.

Erica could not concentrate on her business anymore because of Ben's behaviour. So she had to tell her friend about Ben’s attitude. Her friend without mincing words told her that her boyfriend was cheating on her.

Erica did not believe her friend because she loved Ben too much.

Ben on the other hand was having an affair with his boss. He couldn't resist his boss’s advances because she was beautiful and educated as well, so he gave into his boss's demand and forgot about the one that was with him when he had nothing.

Ben’s boss asked him to move in with her since they were an item now. He couldn't tell Erica about it, so he decided to leave when Erica was at the shop but unfortunately for him, Erica came home to pick something and met him with his luggage.

“Where are you going with your luggage?” Erica asked.

“I'm sorry Erica, I can't continue this relationship anymore. I've seen someone else that is in my class.” Ben responded.

“You've seen someone that is in your class yet all these years that we've been together I was in your class because you were jobless but now that you've started working now, all of a sudden I’m not in your class again right?” Erica asked with tears in her eyes.

“I'm sorry I did not plan for this to happen, but I had to grab this opportunity before it slipped out of my hand” Ben added and left Erica crying.

Erica could not believe her ears. All these years I was wasting my time and sponsoring him with my money. I thought we would have a future together even when my mom warned me against it, I didn't listen.

She was crying when her friend entered the room, “Erica what is it? Why are you crying on the floor?”

“Ben has left me,” Erica said.

“ I hate to say this, but I warned you when you were spending your money on this guy but you were blinded by love.” Her friend remarked.

There is nothing you can do now than to get up and do something for yourself. Don't shed tears for who doesn't worth it. All you have to do now is to work on your appearance, and go back to school, it’s not too late to do that.

Erica heeded her friend's advice and went back to school. After four years, Erica became a graduate but things were not moving well with Ben and he regretted leaving her for his boss.
