Fiction #237...... Love in the mix.

Peter and his siblings have been happy together since the death of their parents. He was the one taking care of his younger ones since he was the eldest.

He took up the responsibility of a father and mother to his younger ones with his taxi business. Whenever he goes to work in the morning, he will come back in the evening with some food for his siblings. Every month end, he will give his siblings money for upkeep and nothing will be left for him.

Peter's life was a whirlwind of responsibility and love for his siblings. Since their parents' passing, he had taken on the role of both father and mother, working tirelessly to provide for them. His taxi business kept him busy, but he always made time for his siblings.

Every evening, after a long day of work, Peter would return home with groceries and a warm smile. His siblings would gather around, excited to see what he had brought. They'd share stories of their day, and Peter would listen intently, offering words of encouragement.

As the night fell, they'd go for a walk together, enjoying the fresh air and each other's company. Movie nights were a normal routine in their house, with Peter and his siblings cuddled up together on the couch, laughing and crying at the latest film they selected. Everyone has a chance to choose a movie and it will go round.

One evening, as they were walking, Ann and Stella whispered to each other, their eyes sparkling with mischief. They had been discussing Peter's love life and had come up with a plan.

"We need to find him someone special," Ann said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Stella nodded enthusiastically. "I've been thinking, and I know just the person. Amanda, my friend from school, is perfect for him."

Ann's eyes lit up. "That's a great idea, Let's invite her over for dinner and see how it goes."

Their plan was set in motion, and Amanda was invited to dinner under the guise of a casual get-together. Peter, oblivious to his siblings' plans looked forward to meeting Amanda

As Amanda became more permanent in Peter's life, his siblings started to feel a bit left out. They had grown accustomed to having Peter's undivided attention, and Amanda's presence disrupted their routine.

One evening, as Peter and Amanda went out on a date, Ann and Stella couldn't help but feel jealous. "He's always busy with her now," Ann said, pouting.

Stella nodded in agreement. "Yeah, we barely see him anymore. It's like Amanda's taken him away from us."

When Peter returned home, his siblings were angry towards Amanda. "You're always taking our brother away from us," Ann said, her voice critically.

Amanda looked taken aback. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. Peter and I just really enjoy each other's company."

But Ann and Stella wouldn't let up. "You need to give our brother some space," Stella said. "We need him too, you know."

Peter tried to intervene, but his siblings wouldn't listen. They blamed Amanda for changing their routine, for taking their brother away from them. Amanda felt hurt and tried to explain that she loved Peter and wanted to be part of their family, but Ann and Stella wouldn't budge.

As the tension grew, Peter found himself caught in the middle. He loved Amanda, but he also didn't want to lose his siblings' trust. He tried to find a balance, but it was clear that things would never be the same again.

The movie nights, the walks, and the laughter were no more. Peter's siblings felt like they were losing their brother, and Amanda felt like she was being pushed away.

One evening, as Peter sat with Amanda, watching the television, he turned to her and said, "I'm sorry about my siblings. They're struggling to adjust."

Amanda smiled softly. "I understand. I'll try to be more considerate."

But deep down, Peter knew it wouldn't be easy. His siblings' resentment towards Amanda would take time to heal, and he hoped that one day, they would all find a way to love and accept each other, knowing that he will one day become a husband and a father.

It really is heartbreaking when someone who used to give us their undivided attention suddenly starts dividing the attention. I admire peter and his sisters' relationship a lot. It's rare. But Peter would get married one day, Stella and Ann cannot clinge to him forever. This was a great story and it was nice to read.

This situation is normal in families where the parents are not available. Once a sibling steps up to play the parental role,he or she is so e for as the rest would depend on him or her entirely. They often forget that he or she who is playing the parent now will also have a family of their own. It is well
