“You don't know me, but I know you,” the voice said before the call cut out.

Mimi's heart skipped a beat as she stared at her phone in confusion. Who was this mysterious caller, and how does he know me?

Mimi tried to brush it off by telling herself in her mind that it was a prank, but the voice lingered in her mind. The voice was low with a hint of familiarity but she could not place it.

As the day went on, Mimi found herself glancing through her shoulder, wondering whether someone was watching her. She felt a growing sense of unease, as if her private world had been invaded.

That night, Mimi received another call from the same unknown number. This time the voice spoke for a few seconds.

“I know all about your past, Mimi. I know about the accident, and the scars that still linger. You think you have moved on, but you haven't, not really.”

Mimi’s mind spun as she listened to the voice, how did this person know about the fire incident that has left a physical and emotional scar in my life? It was a painful experience that she has kept hidden from the world.

As the day went on, Mimi continued to receive calls and messages from the unknown caller, each time the voice revealed more intimate details about her life, making her feel she was slowly unraveled.

She was desperate for an answer so she went to the police station to make a report and to find out whether the caller can be tracked down, but the police were unable to track down the caller. It was as if the caller was invisible and untouchable.

As the calls continued, Mimi was beginning to loss her grip on reality, she started to question her own memories and sanity.

One evening, Mimi was cooking when her phone rang and she rushed to pick but it was the mysterious caller again. As she saw the caller ID, her heart skipped and she started shaking. She picked the call and listen to what the caller has to say but this time, it was different. The voice was no longer threatening, but instead, it sounded almost sorrowful.

“Mimi, I am sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. I just wanted you to know that you are not in this alone.”

With that, the voice went silent and Mimi was left staring at her phone, wondering if she had finally gotten a glimmer of truth.

As she looked back on the strange calls and messages, she realized that the voice was there all along, she was not alone. They were people out there who knew her, understood her and cared for her. Because of the fire incident, she isolated herself from her loved ones and people that care about her.

From that moment, Mimi felt a weight lift off her shoulders. She knew that she would never forget the mysterious voice, but she also knew that was ready to move on, to heal and to find a closure for her life.
