CNF #151......My Chinchin journey.
One afternoon, I was just relaxing in my apartment after a stressful day at work. I was very tired and hungry, so I decided to make something to eat. Suddenly I heard a knock on my door and went to check who it was, I was surprised to see my neighbour at the door because she hardly be in the house at that time.
“Faith, please can you come and assist me in baking some chinchin?” My neighbour said with a pleading tone.
“Ah Mama Ada, I just return from work and I wanted to look for what to eat and relax afterward. I said to her.
“Please Faith help me, I need to deliver the chinchin by tomorrow morning by 7.” She pleaded.
“Okay, just give me few minutes let me finish with what I'm doing.”
“Okay dear thank you God bless.” She said before leaving.
I return to what I was doing, finished everything, take my lunch before heading to Mama Ada’s apartment. I also wanted to know how to bake chinchin, so that was my opportunity to learn.
When I got to Mama Ada's apartment, she has put everything in place and was about starting. I thank God in my mind that she did not start already. I asked her what I was to assist her with and she told me. Within some minutes she was done with the mixing and we were left with the cutting and frying.
After cutting, she poured oil in the pot and allowed it to heat for sometime before she put the chinchin in the oil. I was just looking at the process and everything because I would want to try it one day. I asked questions where necessary so that I can get it and she was not tired of my numerous questions.
By 8pm, we were done with the everything and we cleared everywhere and set them in their appropriate places.
“Faith, thank you very much, I really appreciate, if not for you I don't know how I would have finished this today on time.” Mama Ada said.
“I'm glad I was able to help.” I responded.
She handed me a plastic plate full of chinchin and said goodnight. I thank her and left her apartment. I was glad I learnt something new that day.
Two week later, after I came back from work, I decided to try out the chinchin process. I have already bought the things I needed for the chinchin.
I wash my bowl and dry it, sieve my flour and mixed all the dry ingredients before putting the wait ones. I try mixing everything but it was not easy. What Mama Ada used some minutes to mixed, I used more than one hour thirty minutes to minutes to mixed mine. After mixing, I started cutting before I proceeded to frying.
After everything, I was so happy that the chinchin came out well after a lot of stress.
What Mama Ada did that day looks so simple and easy but the day I try doing it myself, that was when I know it not as easy as it looked.

You are a fast learner to have picked up the process after seeing it once. It's not difficult but we just don't know what we don't know. Getting it after your first try must have made you happy.
Yes dear, what we don't know is always difficult for us. Thank you for reading.
Some things can look easy when others do it but they are not.
You're right my dear. Thank you for reading.
You're welcome
Well, at least yours came out well. For some people, the first attempt is always messy. This made me remember when my sister tried to make puff puff for the first time. 😅😅
Hahahaha. Yeah it did came out well but not perfect. Thank you for reading.
