CNF#135...... Snooping secret.
I was just sitting in my apartment one sunny afternoon, when I remembered that I haven't seen my friend Flora, for some days now. she is a kind soul but she is introverted.
So I decided to go visit her to know what is going on with her. On getting to her place, I knocked and she answered the door. As I sat in her sitting room, I noticed she seemed distant and preoccupied. I tried to talk to her but she just shrugged it off.
“Hey, is everything okay?” I asked with a concerned expression on my face.
Flora forced a smile. “Yes, I'm okay, just stressed from work, that's all.”
“Are you sure? Because you seem bothered.”
She said she is fine but I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was wrong. I was curious, so I started snooping around the room, looking for clues. I checked her phone to see whether I will see anything but I got nothing. I checked her drawer, there was a diary belonging to her.
I opened the diary, and started reading. As I flipped through the pages, I discovered that she was having a tough time in her relationship and she was uncertain about her partner. The diary was the only place she could pour out her innermost thoughts and feelings.
I felt a mix of emotions and concern for her but also guilty for invading her privacy. I reealised that I've crossed a boundary and shouldn't have pried into her private life.
Just then, Flora walked into the room and caught me with the diary. “What are you doing?” She asked her voice shaking with anger.
I quickly tried to hide the diary but I was caught already. “I was worried about you,” I stammered.
Flora's expression turned from anger to hurt. “You think snooping through my private diary is a way to show you care?”
“I'm so sorry, Flora. I know I shouldn't have done that. It was my mistake.”
Flora sighed, her anger slowly vanishing. “I know you were trying to help but you need to understand that some things are private. If I want to share something with you, I'll tell you. But you can't just go through my stuff without asking.”
I nodded, feeling a sense of relief that Flora was willing to talk about it and not bear a grudge. “You're right. I promise to respect your boundaries from now on.”
“Flora smiled slightly. “I appreciate that, let's just forget about this and move forward, okay?”
I hugged her tightly, knowing our friendship was strong enough to withstand any obstacles. “Thank you for forgiving me dear” I said feeling grateful for her understanding.
Flora smiled, “That's what friends are for. Now let's focus on moving forward and being more considerate of each other's boundaries.
That incident almost cost me my relationship with Flora. If not that she is an understanding person that doesn't take things to the extreme. From that day on, I made conscious effort to be more mindful of others’ privacy and prioritize trust and respect in my relationship.
Thank you for reading.

It is obvious you meant well but some people do not like their privacy being invaded at all.
I'm glad you and Flora made up and you understand boundaries as well 👍
Yes my dear I meant well for her. Thank you for reading.
You're welcome
Even within friendships, there are limits, lines that no we can cross, even if the friendship has been going on for years. The private life of the other belongs only to the other and only if that person wants to share it with us, we can enter it. Thank goodness the friendship did not end. Greetings
Yes ooooo, I only meant well for her. Thank you for reading.
Being able to respect boundaries is one serious quality many relationships lack, no wonder such relationships are easily wrecked. That could have happened between you and Flora, but, you are lucky, she's the understanding type. She knew you intruding into her privacy was because you genuinely cared about her.
Thanks for writing.
I cared about her that is why I did that because my friend will not tell me anything even if she is dying in that situation. Thank you for reading.
It's only a good friend that feels concerned when the other is not emotionally or physically well. You are a good friend for going to the limit to figure out what was going on with Flora. Is just that you went a little too far. Privacy is privacy. Perhaps she could not bring herself to tell you then, doesn't mean that she wouldn't have told you still. You were not patient enough.
Good thing Flora forgave you and attached no strings to the diary misunderstandings.
She sure has a good heart, good thing you too. Both of you are definitely a pair. A good friendship is hard to find, if you're privileged to have one, hold it dearly.
Beautiful read and thanks for sharing. Well done @faithwellington
I was only concern because she was not telling me anything and deep down I know she was not okay. Thank you ma for reading.
you are welcome my friend
You are right and it is truth but you almost let being curious get the better of your relationship.
Boundaries matter and must be respected. Thanks for sharing. Greetings.

Two different characters with contrasting habits what makes us special is our ability to respect each other's views and boundaries as well
Amazing piece❤️
Thank you.
You're welcome
No matter who that person is to you, people should know what is called boundaries. Even if the person is your friend.
You are right. Thank you for reading
A valuable lesson through your story. Many blessings to you!
Thank you for reading.
Sometimes, no matter how we mean well for that person, we just have to mind our businesses
Next time, just keep quiet , lol
Thank you for reading.
It's a good thing that she understood your reasons for snooping in her diary. Most people would misunderstand your good intentions.
Yes my dear. Thank you for reading.
Sometimes we should know when to stop, you had her best interest at heart but no one likes when they feel like their privacy is being invaded.
You are right. Thank you for reading.
