Women in The Digital Space

Happy new week to all Hive users. I wish for more encounters and favor from the digital space for us all this month.

This evening, something caught my attention, and I've been pondering it for over thirty minutes. It's all about the zeal of women in the digital space. I don't know about others, but I want to acknowledge that only a few women, not up to 50% of the entire population have heard about the digital space in my country and have the zeal to become part of it.

Why I Had to Ponder About This

A friend of mine recently called to tell me that out of over 20 employees in her company, 15 were laid off because the management couldn't afford to pay their salaries. She was one of the 5 who were retained, thanks to her unique skills in graphic design and social media marketing. The company couldn't afford to hire separate designers and marketers, so her diverse skill set made her invaluable and secured her position.

The accountant was replaced because the payment system transitioned from cash payments to online transfers, with each deposit or withdrawal recorded. The company purchased software to track sales, expenses, and receive new stock automatically. Once new stock arrives, it is scanned and documented in the system. This was how she escaped job loss.

Globally speaking, the direction of the workforce has changed from the traditional 9-to-5 schedule to working from home or remote.

Many organizations are no longer interested in recruiting workforce; instead, they employ artificial intelligence machines that can do the job better and more perfectly than humans.

This is terrible because our needs dictate the reason why we ladies should have extra skill so as not be replaced by AI someday. The rising prices of essential items like food, clothing, and accessories often surpass our monthly earnings, necessitating additional income and expense management. Therefore, developing a skill becomes essential to supplement income during times of financial strain.

A Call for Awareness

I'm worried about the future of young ladies who are younger than me, given the sudden changes in the global financial landscape. The government cares less about them. I believe there should be a massive campaign to inform them about this shift. I'm concerned about the need to convey the importance of discovering and developing their passions into skills. The truth is, without finding their passion, they risk continually learning and disregarding the knowledge they acquire because it doesn't seem applicable for an extended period.

How to Help Young Minds Find Their Passion
Before you start talking to young people, it’s essential to plan how to help them identify their passions. My boss always emphasized the importance of finding your passion. He once told me, "I spent months learning copywriting, but it didn't seem to be my passion. So, I had to give it up after making just a little money from it." With this outlined steps on can use to find passion.

Steps to Identify Your Passion

  1. **Figure Out What You Want: **Think about what you truly want to do. It’s not just about what sounds good, but what you feel you can do for a long time.

Helping young people discover what they love and can see themselves doing for years is crucial. This way, they are more likely to stay motivated and find success.

  1. Choose a skill inline with your passion:
After you have found out what you love to do, choose a skill that matches your passion. For instance as a lady, if you see yourself flowing with energy creatively when it comes to designs then graphics design could be your calling. If you are good with marketing, then you can learn how to market in the digital space.

3. Join a team: The spirit of teamship helps you to stay motivated along the track. You might experience boredom and lack of interest but linking with others will keep you happy till you finsh your course.

Lastly, I want to encourage the other ladies in the community to kindly share their skills. If you could mention your skills in the comment section of this post, I would be very grateful.

Here's what to do:

Mention your skill: Write about what you are good at.

Write a brief description: Give a short explanation of your skill.

Your description might help someone who is feeling lost and looking for a new skill to learn.

Thank you for reading this post. I wish you all a pleasant week ahead!
