My Journey Into Design #247

Hello beautiful women of Hive! I hope you're all doing well and feeling energized for the new week ahead. I’m excited to share something personal, something I’ve always wanted to achieve, and I’m proud to say I finally did! One thing that brings me real joy is achieving a goal I set for myself.

Over time, I’ve come to realize how important it is for us as women to live intentionally. We shouldn't just drift through life, accepting things as they come. I used to live that way, passively, without clear direction. But I’ve learned that even in tough situations, setting a goal gives you the strength and focus to keep pushing forward.

My Plan and Breakthrough I’m so happy to share that I’ve successfully learned a tech skill, graphic design! Some time ago, I often wondered what could ignite my interest in tech. Everything changed when I attended an event where young people many of them younger than me spoke passionately about technology. They encouraged us to embrace digital skills because the world is shifting from what you studied in school to what you can do in the real world. As I listened, something hit me deeply. I had no digital skill. In fact, I barely knew how to use a computer. I left that event feeling a mix of inspiration and regret. But instead of letting that feeling weigh me down, I took it as a challenge.

I started learning even though the journey wasn’t easy. There were moments of doubt and frustration. But as I continued, things began to fall into place. I saw clearly that if you really want something, and you're willing to put in the effort, you can achieve it.

I began to meet people who were kind enough to teach me design without collecting a dime. They introduced me to basic design using Canva. And to think I was someone who never imagined I could sit in front of a laptop for hours, I became completely hooked! After completing my design course, I decided to share a flyer on my church’s social media group. Guess what? The response was amazing! So many people reached out. To be honest, I haven’t been very active here on Hive lately because I’ve been fully engaged with design jobs.

Things moved quickly! I eventually joined a team of creatives, and today, I proudly work with them to achieve design goals This has truly been one of my biggest joys and achievements. I used to think that once you become a mother, there wouldn’t be time or space to learn new things. But here I am, not only learning but also enjoying it with passion and purpose.

A Word of Encouragement To every young woman out there: please don’t ignore the power of digital skills. The world is transitioning fast, if you cant learn it, introduce your kids to it early and if you don’t have a skill, you might be left behind.

Many of these skills are free to learn. You can study at your own pace, even from your phone. In fact, many government programs and organizations are now supporting digital training for women and youths.

Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Start small. Learn a skill. Be consistent. The opportunities will come.

Thank you so much for reading, and I look forward to sharing more of my journey with you all.

And you didn't need a digital diploma from anyone to get where you are and where you will want to be. Web3 is here and you are going to be in great position to make good us of this digital age. @faithgifty34

I've often wondered why people don't know how to use the internet. Why do they say it's harmful? It all depends on how you use it, and it could be a crown to win. Congratulations, because the challenge was won.
