Hive Naija Weekly Prompt 28: MY CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCES

avatar

Hello everyone @Hive Naija community and happy new week to us all. Its yet another awesome time on the hive naija weekly prompt and i'm glad to be participating where i will be sharing my different experiences during my childhood days in which some are wise, some childish, some brave and many others. Growing up as a child is for me is full of memories been the last child of the family and also as a male child in a nuclear family setting and in a neighborhood/community setting.

I remember the very first time i saw what is called "Agere" (giant) coming from my Junior Secondary School that very day, i was so surprised as i have never seen such before. I followed the "Agere" (giant) aliitle far together with several others thronging round it and i told my parents what i saw because they are suprised at ny coming home late and after inquisition, they enlightened me about it. Likewise, i remembered when i was in Primary School on my way home saw a crowd gathered around a man who had a Monkey partially clothed and the monkey is dancing as the man makes some melodious sound to the Monkey that day and people started giving the monkey bananas and the man money, i was thrilled at the sight of this.

One of the fond memories of my childishness was that particular year my mum bought me a Christmas cloth🤵 and shoe though oversized earlier before that time, i always check it where i kept it and sometimes put it on self even before the Christmas day, what a funny rememberance. One of my brave moments was the first day i played the Church electric keyboard 🎹 which am just learning and not really good at yet but have to because no one was available to play that very Sunday. One of my brothers who knew that i was learning keyboard then encouraged me that day and i summoned the courage aswell even though there were off notes and I was afraid, but the rest is history now because that day marks the beginning which I'm into till today and have played at different places and platforms.

One unwise decision i took then was the day i went to play football ⚽ in a small field around the neighborhood and i dropped my small Nokia phone which i was gifted including its SIM with a spectator i never from anywhere. When done with the football game and it was time to go home, i looked for this person and he is nowhere to be found, i left for home after sympathy from friends and that was how i lost my first ever phone. Some of my proud moments was the price giving day when i was given gifts for outstanding performances both at class level and also as a school prefect and on those special days after bringing the report card home, a special delicacy which is sumptous will be prepared 😂 as a way of appreciation and encouragement.

In all, the childhood phase is one full of vast memories and the rememberance of such is worthwhile telling us about the beautiful part of life called growth and maximizing each phase of life. Thank you for reading.

It was great sharing your childhood experience, Agere…hmm, I also remembered when I was little, whenever agere comes to our neighborhood, I will always run inside the house and watch it from afar😂
So do you still play the piano?
Childhood can be so much fun and your curiosity as a child sometimes land us into troubles because children never listens, they’ll always want to do the opposite.

Journey of a thousand miles begins with a step, a brave step just like you did by agreeing to play the piano even though you were still learning. Now, you have gone far in playing the piano and I believe you are close to being an expert as well 👍.

Thanks for participating in the contest.

You were even brave to follow the giant, the first time I saw it was when I was 9 years old… I didn’t wait to see if it was his real legs or not, I ran as fast as I could and even had a nightmare about it😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂, the young shall surely grow, seeing this really brought some fun memories
