Dragons are not real.
The fire breathing dragons are fictional stories that keeps the audience on an edge. The idea of an animal with thick skin, wings to fly and can breathe fire is captivating. I guess fictional stories are more dramatic and captivating because they are not real stories.
The wilder audience has taken the advantage of the created animal to make items, tools that are marketable. You have dragon signs, faces, even statue around us today. Some folks would say dragon is their favorite animal, meanwhile they are not.
But the idea of dragons have come to stay even when they do not exist in the real world, I guess they exist in the mind of the audience.
