Hello dear Hive users, I hope you are well.
I'm actually a bit more relaxed these days, maybe the slow arrival of summer also contributes to this. We planned a weekend trip to Gaziantep with friends, saying that it would be nice to evaluate these periods when the weather is just getting warmer. Don't look at the fact that I say it is slowly getting warmer, as someone who lives in Şanlıurfa, I can say that unfortunately spring and fall seasons are not experienced here. That is why the weather that made us wear sweaters yesterday is now allowing people to wear shorts outside. Here, unfortunately, we are experiencing global warming to the fullest. Yet, I think we went to Antep at the best time. I can say that if you are in a region that reaches a minimum of 45 and a maximum of 63 degrees in summer, it is the best time to visit.
Let me tell you a little bit about our trip.

We left at 9 in the morning and our first stop was Gaziantep Money Museum. In fact, while we had the Hamam Museum in our target, I can say that it was a place where a middle-aged gentleman - who was a museum employee - convinced us on the way and surprised our route. But I'm glad he did. I was surprised to see thousands or even hundreds of thousands of coins inside. It was surprising to see coins used not only in Türkiye also in other countries.

An old uncle who welcomed us there asked us one by one where we were from and our branches, and accordingly showed us the coins related to us.

I can say that it was surprising to see the money of Ordu, my hometown, with the picture of 3 girls picking hazelnuts. As you know, since Ordu is famous for its hazelnuts, it was very meaningful to print such a coin.

After walking around a bit inside and taking photos, we donated to the aid fund box that the municipality had put for the students at the door and left.

Then we entered the Hamam Museum, which is normally our first route. There is something called hamam culture in Turkey, which I have never experienced but I am very curious about. So I can say that it attracted my attention.

The depictions of the sculptures in the section for men at the entrance were quite eye-catching. Posing with a statue there was one of the memories of the day :)

Another tradition in the baths is the preparation of picnic-style food. The women are scrubbed well and cleaned from sweat and dirt, they have fun with songs and they all enjoy the food they bring together. Yes, the food thing seemed strange to me at first, but then I thought that being in the heat of the baths and being in constant contact with water makes you very hungry and thirsty. I thought about the way I attacked food after swimming in the sea in the summer, and if the water was very hot, I would probably get even hungrier.
I learned that the place where 3 women are sitting and eating something in the photo is the heatingstone and that food is eaten there after bathing. I always heard about the heating stone but I didn't know what it meant.

While I was browsing the walls, I came across the tradition of the Bride's Bath. In the old days, women used to take the bride-to-be to the hammam, and I heard that there are still places where this tradition continues. But it is not to evaluate the bride as it used to be, but to mingle and have a good time.

After visiting the Turkish bath museum, on the way to our next stop on the way to our next stop, we couldn't pass by Çağdaş Tatlıcı, where we had dessert before, without buying a lokma dessert. They definitely have such a good dessert that I hadn't forgotten about it the last time I was here in 2021, and my father even says that he will travel seventeen hours again for that lokma dessert :)

Normally I don't like lokma dessert too much, but the one made there is so different and beautiful, especially when you buy it hot, it is very fresh, and I think they use baking soda instead of baking powder in the dough because you feel it while eating it. I would definitely say that if you come to Gaziantep, do not pass without stopping by Çağdaş Tatlıcı. Whoever you ask for the location, they will say that they know it, but I think you can find it on goggle maps.

Ben bu aralar açıkcası biraz daha rahatlamış haldeyim, belki yazın yavaş yavaş gelmesinin de bunda katkısı vardır. Havaların yeni yeni ısındığı şu dönemleri değerlendirmek de güzel olur diyerek arkadaşlarla hafta sonu Gaziantep gezisi planladık biz de. Gerçi bakmayın yavaş yavaş ısınıyor dediğime , ben Şanlıurfa'da yaşayan biri olarak şunu söyleyebilirim ki burada ilkbahar ve sonbahar mevsimleri maalesef ki yaşanmıyor. O yüzdendir ki daha dün bize kazak giydiren hava şu an dışarıda insanlara şort giymelerine müsade ediyor. Burda maalesef küresel ısnmayı dibine kadar yaşıyoruz. Hal böyleyken en iyi zamanda gittiğimizi düşünüyorum Antep'e. Ki yazın minimum 45 maksimum 63 derecelere kadar çıkan bir bölgedeyseniz gezmek için en iyi zamanlar diyebilirim.

Biraz da gezimizden bahsedeyim size..
Sabah 9 da çıktığımız gezimizde ilk durağımız Para Müzesiydi.

Aslında hedefimizde Hamam müzesi varken yol üstünde orta yaşlarda bir beyin -ki müze çalışanıymış kendisi- bizi ikna ederek rotamızı şaşırttığı bir yer oldu diyebilirim. Ama iyi ki de şaşırtmış diyebilirim. İçerisinde binlerce hatta yüz binlerce diyebileceğim sayıda parayı görmek şaşırmama neden oldu. Sadece Türkiye değil diğer ülkelerde de kullanılan paraları görmek şaşırtıcıydı.

Bizi orada karşılayan yaşlı bir amca tek tek nereli olduğumuzuve branşlarımızı sordu, ona göre bizlere bizimle alakalı paraları gösterdi.

Memleketim olan Ordu'nun fındık toplayan 3 kız resimli parasını görmek şaşırtıcı oldu diyebilirim. Bildiğiniz gibi Ordu fındığı ile meşhur olduğu için böyle bir para basılması da oldkça manidar olmuş.

İçeride biraz gezip fotoğraf çektirdikten sonra çıkarken kapıda belediyenin öğrenciler için koymuş olduğu yardım fonu kutusuna bağışta bulunup çıktık .

Sonra normalde ilk rotamız olan Hamam Müzesine girdik. Türkiye'de hamam kültürü denilen bir şey var ki benim hiç deneyimlemediğim ama çok merak ettiğim bir şey. Bu yüzden dikkatimi çektiğini söyleyebilirim.

Girişte erkekler için olan bölümdeki heykellerin tasvirleri oldukça göz alıcıydı. Oradaki bir heykelle poz vermek de günün anılarından oldu :)

Hamamda yapılan bir gelenek de, piknik tarzında yiyecekler hazırlanmasıdır.

Kadınlar hem güzelce keselenip ter ve kirlerinden arınırlar , şarkılar eşliğinde eğlenirler hem de getirdikleri yiyecekleri hep beraber afiyetle yerler. Evet yemek olayı bana da başta tuhaf gelmişti ama sonra düşündüm ki hamamın o sıcağında sürekli suyla haşır neşir halinde olmak sizi fazlasıyla acıktırıp susatır. Yazın denizde yüzdükten sonra yiyeceklere saldıran halimi düşündüm de , hele bir de su çok sıcak olsa daha da acıkırım muhtemelen.
İçeriyi gezerken de okuyup kültürlenmeyi ihmal etmedik. Fotoğrafta 3 kadının oturup bir şeyler yediği yerin göbek taşı olduğunu yıkanıldıktan sonra orada yemekler yenildiğini öğrendim. Göbek Taşını hep duyardım ama ne anlama geldiğini bilmezdim.

Duvarlara göz atarken Gelin Hamamı geleneğine de rastladım. Eskiden kadınlar gelin olacak kişiyi alıp hamama götürürlermiş böyle bir adet varmış hala devam eden yerler olduğunu duymuştum. Ama eskisi gibi gelini değerlendirmek için değil de kaynaşmak, hoş zaman geçirmek için yapılıyor.

Hamam müzesini gezdikten sonra yol üstünde bir sonraki durğımıza giderken daha önce de tatlısını yediğimiz Çağdaş Tatlıcı'nın önünden geçerken lokma tatlısı almadan edemedik. Kesinlikle o kadar güzel bir tatlıları var ki 2021 senesinde en son geldiğimde aklımda çıkmamıştı, hatta babam arada o lokma tatlı için tekrar on yedi saatlik yoldan geleceğini söyler :)

Normalde lokma tatlısını aşırı sevmem ama orada yapılan o kadar farklı ve güzel ki , özellikle sıcak sıcak çıktığı satın alıyorsunuz baya taze oluyor bir de sanırım hamurunda kabartma tozu yerine karbonat kullandıklarını düşünüyorm çünkü yerken onu hissediyorsunuz. Kesinlikle Gaziantep'e gelirseniz Çağdaş Tatlıcıya uğramadan geçmeyin derim. Konumu için kime sorulsa bilir derler orası için ama goggle maps'te de çıkacağını düşünüyorum.
Şimdilik postumu burada sonlandırıyorum ikinci bölümünde Bakırcılar Çarşısı, ünlü Tahmis Kahvecisi ve Oyuncak Müzesi hakkında yorumlarım olacak. Bir sonraki postumda görüşürüz,kendinize iyi bakın :)
