Hello dear Hive users, I was away for a few days. My wife and I went to my hometown of Ordu for my cousin's wedding. There is a distance of about twelve to thirteen hours between where I currently live and Ordu. Unfortunately, when you go by bus, it takes seventeen to eighteen hours. Unfortunately, we went by bus because we don't have our own car. Of course, it's not very sensible to spend 17 hours going there and 17 hours coming back for just two days, but since my cousin, who was getting married, is close to me and I only have a handful of cousins, I didn't want to miss this moment.
The journey there was a bit of a hassle, unfortunately. First, we took a one-hour bus to the city center bus station and then boarded the bus to Ordu. The bus to the city center was so crowded that it moved very slowly, and we even had to switch to another bus for the last twenty minutes of the journey.
Anyway, we made it to Ordu somehow. We went home, had a nice breakfast, rested a bit, and then started getting ready for the wedding. In our culture, the henna night is held first, and the wedding takes place the next day.

After getting ready, we went to the venue for the henna night.

My cousin and her family had planned to hold the henna night in front of the house, so the venue for the organization and the meal was close to us. First, we found my cousin, aunt, and uncle, wished them well, and then my husband and I had something to eat at the venue where the wedding meal was served. (I wish I had taken a photo of the food, but unfortunately, I didn't have much opportunity to do so, as older people in the area might find such things strange :) ) But to briefly mention the food, there was chicken keşkek, beef stew, rice, and baklava.
The menu was filling and delicious for those attending the wedding.
After eating, we took a couple of photos at the entrance before the wedding began.

The organization used colors dominated by red and burgundy, in line with the henna night concept.

After the wedding began, the crowd slowly started to gather. The music band had also arrived, and finally, the wedding commenced.
They played classic dance tunes, interspersed with local dances and Roman tunes throughout the wedding. It had started around 6:30 p.m. As it approached 8:30 p.m., the groom and his family and relatives began to arrive with the henna tray. They came playing with torches, drums, and flutes in their hands.

One of our customs is that when the groom arrives with the henna tray, the bride's side will try to prevent the groom from getting close to the bride. The groom will eventually overcome the bride's side, which is like a wall, and reach his bride. After our efforts and the groom's efforts, the groom somehow reached the bride, and they started dancing together. Here, a dance is also performed for the bride. Normally, the bride and groom are supposed to lift the henna tray together and dance. But the groom lifts the tray as high as possible so that the bride cannot reach it, and the bride struggles to catch it. In the end, the bride gives money in exchange for the tray and can share it with the groom.

After these customs are performed, the henna entrance dance and the test breaking stage are carried out for the bride and her friends. I don't know how long the tray breaking custom has been around or why it's done, but it's quite fun. At first, my cousin didn't have the strength to break the test, so the groom took it and broke it firmly for her :)

Everyone laughed at this moment.

Then came the henna burning ceremony, perhaps the most emotional part of the henna night. In Turkish tradition, henna is burned into the palm of the bride-to-be while a henna song is played beforehand.

This henna song is usually sad, and the bride is expected to cry. Most brides get emotional and cry. I can say my cousin was one of them. While the henna is being applied, the bride tightly closes her palm and does not open it so that her mother-in-law can place gold there. That's how our traditions are...
After the henna, the bride and groom danced and played some games, then the groom's side left the wedding venue, and the wedding slowly came to an end. We stopped by my aunts' house, talked a bit about the wedding, then decided to rest for tomorrow's main wedding and headed home.

Merhaba sevgili Hive kullanıcıları, birkaç gün buralardan uzaktım. Kuzenimin düğünü dolayısıyıla memleketim Ordu'ya gittik eşimle. Şuan yaşadığım yerle Ordu aeasında yaklaşık on iki-on üç saatlik bir mesafe var. Ama bu otobüsle gittiğinizde on yedi- on sekiz saati buluyor maalesef. Biz de kendi arabamız olmadığından otobüsle gittik maalesef. Sadece2 gün için 17 saatlik gidiş ve on yedi saatlik dönüş mesafesi çekmek çok akıl karı değil tabi ki ama düğünü olacak olan kuzenimle yakın olduğumuz ve de benim zaten bir elin parmağını geçmeyecek kuzenim olduğundan bu anı kaçırmak istemedim.
Gidiş yolumuz biraz çerefilli oldu maalesef. Önce 1 saatlik şehir merkezine otogara gidipordan Ordu arabasına bindik. Şehir merkezine giden araçta sıkıntılı olduğu için çok yavaş kaldı hatta son yirmi dakikalık yol için başka araca geçtik.
Neyse ki bir şekilde Ordu'ya vardık. Eve geçip güzel bir kahvaltı yapıp biraz dinlendikten sonra düğün için hazırlanmaya başladık. Bizim kültürümüzde öncelikle kına gecesi yapılır daha sonra düğün ertesi gün yapılır.
Hazırlandıktan sonra kına gecesinin yapılcağı alana geçtik.

Kuzenim ve ailesi kına gecesi evin önünü düşündükleri için organizasyon ve yemek verilen yer bize yakındı. Öncelikle kuzenimive halamı ,eniştemi bulup hayırlı olsun dedikten sonra düğün yemeği verilen yerde eşimle bir şeyler yedik. (Keşke yemeğin fotoğrafını da çekseydim ama maalesef çok fırsatım olmadı,çevrede yaşlı insanlar olunca böyle şeyleri garip bulabiliyorlar :) ) Ama kısaca yemekten bahsedecek olursak tavuklu keşkek yemeği , dana etli yahni, pilav,baklava.
Menü düğüne gelenler için doyurucu ve güzeldi.

Yemeği de yedikten sonra düğün başlamadan fotoğraf çekindik bir- iki tane girişte.

Kına gecesi konseptine uygun olarak kırmızı ve bordonun yoğun olduğu renkler kullanılmıştı organizasyonda.

Düğün başladıktan sonra yavaştan kalabalık olmaya başlamıştı. Müzik ekibi de gelmişti ve nihayet düğün başladı.
Klasik oyun havaları , arada yöresel oyunlar, roman havaları çaldı düğün boyunca. Saat 18.30 gibi başlanmıştı. Saat 20.30'a doğru gelirken damat ve ailesi, akrabaları kına tepsisiyle gelmeye başlamışlardı. Gelirken ellerinde meşale ve davul, zurnayla oynayarak geliyorlardı.

Bir adetimiz de damat gelince kına tepsisiyle,gelin tarafı damadı geline yaklaştırmamak için uğraş vericek. Damat da duvar gibi örülen gelin tarafını aşıp gelinine kavuşacak en sonunda. Bizim uğraşlarımız,damadın çabaları derken bir şekilde damat geline ulaştı ve karşılıklı oynamaya başladılar. Burada da gelin için bir oyun kuruluyor. Normalde kına tepsisini gelin ve damadın birlikte kaldırarak oynaması gerekiyor . Ama damat gelin tepsiye ulaşamasın diye tepsiyi olabildiğince havaya kaldırıyor , gelin de yakalamak için baya uğraşıyor. En sonunda da gelin tepsi karşılığında para verip damada tepsiye ortak olabiliyor.

Bu gibi adetler de yerine getirildikten sonra gelin ve arkadaşları için kına giriş dansı ve testi kırma aşaması gerçekleştiriliyor. Tepsi kırma adeti açıkcası ne zamandır yapılıyor ya da neden yapılıyor bilmiyorum ama oldukça eğlenceli. Başta testiyi kırmaya gücü yetmeyen kuzenim için testiyi alıp sertçe damat onun yerine kırdı :)

Bu ana herkes gülmüştü.
Daha sonra kına gecesinin belkide en duygulu bölümü olan kına yakma merasimine geçildi. Türk gelenek ve göreneklerinde evlenecek olan gelinin avuç içine kına yakılır yakılırken de öncesinde kına türküsü çalar.

Bu kına türküsü genelde acıklı olur ve gelinin ağlaması beklenir. Genelde de çoğu gelin duygulanır ve ağlar. Kuzenim de onlardan oldu diyebilirim. Kına yakılırken de gelin avuç içini sıkıca kapatır ve açmaz ki kayınvalidesi oraya altın koyar. Böyle geleneklerimiz var işte ..
Kınadan sonra da gelin ve damat dans edip biraz oyun havası da oynadıktan sonra erkek tarafı düğün alanını terk etti ve yavaştan düğün bitti. Biz de halamların evine uğrayıp orada biraz düğün hakkında konuştuktan sonra yarınki asıl düğün için dinlenmeye karar verip evimize yol aldıkkk....
