Weekly Engagement-WK 15: My First Apollo Experience
If someone had told me that I was going to be among those who were going to experience the Apollo disease, I would have told the person that he was lying or that he or she didn't know what they were saying because I was never affected by it.
Even when my family members were all affected by the Apollo disease, one particular year, although at different times, not once did I ever get affected by it.
This particular year, I and my family all came back to our hometown after the death of my father, since I was not done with school, I was asked to go stay with my Uncle to further my education.

Everything was going fine until the season of the Apollo came striking unaware like the thief in the middle of the night. Many of my classmates started getting affected one by one but I was left out and yeah so I thought not knowing I was left out to witness the greater part of the Apollo.
While I was avoiding them, while stylishly mocking them, something we usually do, I got home one day after school and slept off only to wake up the next day unable to open my eyes properly.
While I was trying to comprehend why I was having difficulty with that, I heard someone giggle devilishly, and I knew that there was more to my inability to open my eyes properly.
I stood up carefully and took myself to the mirror, lo and behold what I saw would have given me a heart attack, my two eyes were swollen and so red like I just smoked, and then, I had eye mucus on both sides.
I saw my aunt laughing at my state when I was still trying to understand how I was able to get affected by it now. Well, I knew I had to visit a pharmacy, so I was given some eye drops, and some pain relief to help me.
I ended up using two bottles of eye drops and always moving around with my face towel because of the constant water that came out from my eyes until I was healed from the Apollo and ever since then, I have never had it till today, and for the record, it's been a while since I heard or I have seen it happen to anyone again.
This is my answer to the first question in the Weekly Engagement-WK 15: Join Us For A Week Filled With Exciting Activities
Apollo doesn't spare anyone, no matter who you are, as long as you come in contact with someone who has it or an environment where the allergy is, just know you're next on line. Thank God it finally left.
