In a world where routine often traps us in its fast pace, finding beauty in the everyday can be a small but deeply meaningful gesture. This week I decided to transform an ordinary object - my phone charger - into a small work of art, and the process, though simple, turned out to be a rewarding and colorful experience.

En un mundo donde la rutina suele atraparnos en su ritmo veloz, encontrar belleza en lo cotidiano puede ser un gesto pequeño pero profundamente significativo. Esta semana decidí transformar un objeto común —mi cargador de teléfono— en una pequeña obra de arte, y el proceso, aunque sencillo, resultó ser una experiencia gratificante y llena de color.

It all started with a simple idea: why not give a personal touch to something as everyday as a charger? We use it every day, we carry it everywhere, and yet we rarely look at it closely.

ESPAÑOL

Todo comenzó con una idea sencilla: ¿por qué no darle un toque personal a algo tan cotidiano como un cargador? Lo usamos todos los días, lo llevamos a todas partes, y sin embargo, rara vez lo miramos con atención.

So I took my acrylic paints and, on the white background of the magazine, I started drawing tiny flowers in vibrant shades of yellow, blue, red and green.

Así que tomé mis pinturas acrílicas y, sobre el fondo blanco del cargador, empecé a dibujar flores menudas en tonos vibrantes: amarillo, azul, rojo y verde.

The process did not require complex techniques or special tools. Just a thin brush, a little patience, and a great desire to play with colors. The flowers appeared little by little, one by one, without a rigid pattern. Some were more rounded, others more elongated. The important thing was not perfection, but to let intuition guide the brush and allow color to break the monotony of a soulless white plastic.

El proceso no requirió de técnicas complejas ni de herramientas especiales. Solo un pincel delgado, un poco de paciencia, y muchas ganas de jugar con los colores. Las flores fueron apareciendo poco a poco, una a una, sin un patrón rígido. Algunas eran más redondeadas, otras más alargadas. Lo importante no era la perfección, sino dejar que la intuición guiara el pincel y permitir que el color rompiera la monotonía de un plástico blanco sin alma.

What was magical was realizing how much that little object changed. From being something functional but meaningless, it became a piece with character, joy and warmth. It's no longer just a charger: now it's mine, it has my stamp on it, and every time I use it, it brings a smile to my face.

Lo mágico fue darme cuenta de lo mucho que cambió ese pequeño objeto. De ser algo funcional pero sin significado, se convirtió en una pieza con carácter, alegría y calidez. Ya no es solo un cargador: ahora es mío, tiene mi sello, y cada vez que lo uso, me saca una sonrisa.

Painting this charger was more than just a decorative activity. It was an act of pause. In the midst of so many obligations and screens, I took a moment for myself, to disconnect from the noise and connect with what I love: creating. During that time, I didn't think about to-do lists or deadlines to meet. There was only me, the brush, the colors, and the small white surface waiting to bloom.

Pintar este cargador fue más que una simple actividad decorativa. Fue un acto de pausa. En medio de tantas obligaciones y pantallas, me tomé un momento para mí, para desconectar del ruido y conectar con lo que me gusta: crear. Durante ese rato, no pensé en listas de pendientes ni en plazos por cumplir. Solo estaba yo, el pincel, los colores, y la pequeña superficie blanca esperando florecer.

These types of projects remind us that art doesn't always have to be grand or complex. Sometimes, the simplest thing can have the greatest impact. Beautifying the everyday not only changes the object: it also changes the way we see it, the way we use it, and even the way we feel.

In addition, this type of activity is perfect for relaxing, releasing tension and enjoying the present. You don't need to be an artist to start. All you need is an everyday object, some paints, and the desire to add a little color to the day.

Thus, painting a charger became much more than a hobby: it was a way to bring joy, personality and beauty to something so commonplace. Because in the end, the ordinary can also be extraordinary, if we give it a chance to blossom.

Este tipo de proyectos nos recuerdan que el arte no siempre tiene que ser grandioso o complejo. A veces, lo más sencillo puede tener el mayor impacto. Embellecer lo cotidiano no solo cambia el objeto: también cambia nuestra forma de verlo, de usarlo, y hasta de sentirnos.

Además, este tipo de actividad es perfecta para relajarse, liberar tensiones y disfrutar del presente. No hace falta ser artista para empezar. Solo se necesita un objeto cotidiano, algunas pinturas, y el deseo de ponerle un poco de color al día.

Así, pintar un cargador se convirtió en mucho más que un pasatiempo: fue una manera de traer alegría, personalidad y belleza a algo tan común. Porque al final, lo cotidiano también puede ser extraordinario, si le damos la oportunidad de florecer.
