Owning My Journey: A Story of Being Strong and Self-Standing—An Introductory Post

Hello, good day! My name is Jessel Fuentes but you can call me "Sel". This is my first time posting in this platform and I feel blessed that I was able to find this platform—finally I can express my thoughts and feelings here and share with you where I unpack one story at a time. This blog will serves as my comfort space—I can finally share my wins, my “aha” moments, and my “what-was-I-thinking” ones. Though it might be embarrassing but at least I can let it out of my chest so that I won't explode, just kidding.

To know me more, I'll share a little background about me:

● I am a 23 year old woman
● Taking up a Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Science
● I have 24 members in the family including the extended family

Taking up major classes like chemistry, biology, and physics is not easy especially when your professors do not explain the details step-by-step however when you're eager to learn no matter how difficult it is, you will definitely find ways to get information and let it sink in your mind the proper ways to deal with the perplex science. Thanks to our professor, for teaching us to become resilient which helps in our personal growth.

My family has always been my greatest inspiration to do more and dream big. Whenever I feel down and doubt myself, they are always the one to cheer me up and encourage me to keep on fighting—never give up. As what my father says, it's okay to rest as it does not reflects who you are. Resting doesn't mean failure—it's freedom. He is my greatest support but I let him down since I didn't finish my last semester of education because I got pregnant. He was disappointed but finally, he accepted the truth and right now he adores my little baby. In the next school year, I will enroll to my state university to finish my degree in order to make them proud.

Blogging is my other way to express what I truly feel and share with you the stories that I experience. Through this we can connect, bond and be motivated by other people's stories. I know that I'll be able to connect with you and relate to your stories. I am bubbly and outgoing person but sometimes I am an introvert person, it depends on the mood or the atmosphere.

I am onboarded by @antonette, whom I met through facebook and I am beyond grateful because of her I became a part of this platform. She assisted me with her incredible knowledge and encourages me to be one of you. She's insightful and full of wisdom.

I joined hive since I want to share my story one at a time and I want you to be part of my journey, where I can share my ups and how I overcome the struggles, now the question is what will this platform expect from me? Well, expect that I will be sharing my experiences and growth development and how I am as a person.

I am here to share positive vibes and bring happiness to all part of the community. This blog is my open journal. A place where we connect, reflect and grow—together.
