Why Do the Rich Oppress the Poor?

Why do people have to oppress others just because they are richer than them, God knows that all fingers are not equal that is why he created human beings like that as well, I believe people who are in position to help should just help without hoping for anything in return but no, they just want to be rewarded either in cash or in kind.

My friend called me this morning and was just crying, I couldn't have pictured what happened because I rebuked what I was thinking, I calmed her down on the phone and inquired what could make a grown-up lady to be shedding tears as if she committed a crime

This my friend is the breadwinner of her family, her dad was late some years back and things got sour for them, though the father left some properties after his demise, but the younger brother to the father sold everything without giving them a dime, the mother is someone who is calm and she is not educated so this made everything worse for them.

My friend managed to train herself at the university level and also supported her family, she graduated from the university and we all know
It wasn't easy to get employed in this country as a fresh graduate because their requirement can be above you, sometimes most companies are looking for young graduates under the age of 26-27 with two to three years of working experience when Academic staff union of Universities strike (ASUU Strike) have already taken the better part of your age and disorganized your plan for future.

Now she has finished university and every road seems blocked, her mother went to this wealthy man in their neighborhood to seek help if he could assist her in getting a job, the man agrees to help but on one condition that my friend will be giving him her monthly salary for one year if he helps her in getting the job.

This condition got my friend thinking for days, how would she feed her family, and working without a salary is just like working in vain, with excitement and a sorrowful heart, they agreed with the condition he gave them, and they signed an agreement so that no one will go back on their words. Is all this necessary?

Since they had agreed to his condition, the man gave her the job as promised, he helped her secure a spot in his friend's office and the lady kept to the agreement, she has been paying this man for more than six months now without having any savings, the man didn't demands for 50% he requested for 80% of her salary that is why I said all because there is nothing remain after giving the man 80%, when my friend told me about this I was so furious about it, why will someone did something like that in this present situation of the country.

When she called me this morning crying, she told me that her mother is seriously sick and she has no money to take her to the hospital despite she is working, I felt for her because I understood why she was crying, she told me that she called the man to help her but the man said she shouldn't disturb him, that is why she is crying, her mother was lying lifelessly in the hospital now, without no one attending to her, I transferred everything I have in my account to her to start with her treatment.

Why will wealthy people victimize the poor? I believe we should help without negotiation, it wasn't easy for me to transfer money to her because I had already planned for myself, I wanted to order my makeup products but now I can never leave my friend's mother to die because of her silly mistake. This had already disrupted my plan.
