Turning Lemons into Lipstick: How I Transformed My Career and Found Happiness
There is a point in our life when we only go for what is available and not what we are inspired for, life can turn the other side to us all we need to do is accept our fate and make use of every opportunity in life.
My dream was to become an accountant right from my secondary school level, but the first challenge came from my father who wanted me to go to the science department in my secondary school and later go for medical study at the university, as fate has it, all my attempt to study medicine in the university was proved abortive.
Now I developed an interest in geology, I studied geology as a course at the university and I hope to work in a construction company, I love engineering geology, which is a branch of geology that deals with construction, Engineering geologists play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and sustainability of infrastructure projects, natural resource development, and environmental management.
These are some key responsibilities of an engineering geologist
They serve as Site investigations and conduct field investigations to gather data on geological conditions, including rock and soil types, structural features, and groundwater conditions.
They evaluate the geological risks associated with a project, including natural hazards, geological instability, and environmental impacts. Also, they Design and Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to design and plan infrastructure projects, taking into account geological constraints and hazards.
Lastly, they Monitor and test geological conditions during construction and operation to ensure the stability and safety of the project.
Engineering geology is one of my best courses in the university, I had plans to get myself a suitable job as an engineer but fate was against me, after graduation, it was a thug of war, we all know how difficult it is to get a job in this country called Nigeria, I started submitting my application in different companies, I attended interviews but the height of it was one interview I went to, they interacted with me very well, as I was told I did perfectly but I was asked for a recommendation letter, who directed me to the company? Who is my godfather? Was the question they asked me.
I got fed up because I had no connection to lobbying for a job, no one to help and I was not ready to be sleeping around to have a job that I knew I was qualified for, I planned to empower myself and stop running around all in the name of jobs, I gave up on my dream job and started life afresh, life doesn't give me what I want but I turned it to an avenue to make something meaningful out of life.
THIS PICTURE IS MINE
I ventured into make-up and I am doing well for myself, I have been enjoying every bit of it without regret for a moment. The best choice I made for myself was to stop wandering around and bring out the best in me, make something meaningful with my time and talent.

The most important thing is doing what you love and reserving the gratification you deserve, it doesn't matter what people think. The picture proves that you are good at what you do. Keep it up
